We buy a special brand of food it is amazing we get it at petco or petsmart it’s called shepard and green
1) Buy a descented ferret. At my pet store they advertise how ferrets are descented. If you can’t find any that aren’t descented, you should take them to the vet to do so. By descented I mean spayed/neutered. This contributes the most to their scent.
2) Febreeze/Glade plug-ins around cages work wonderfully for my mice, just make sure it isn’t too close to the cage since it can cause respiratory problems. Put it in the hallway outside of the room, put it far away, but not too far.
3) Expensive shampoo. Often there are ferret-specific shampoos at stores. They are often expensive but you get what you pay for. Just don’t bathe them too often. Only once and a while.
4) Putting them in an open room. Put them in a room that’s not drafty, but has many openings or is simply large.
5) Sometimes my friends use rose-scented water or lemon scented water. They just sprinkle some in their coats if the scent is overpowering one day. It’s harmless and inexpensive if it’s watered down and works wonders.
6) Buy female ferrets, female rodents tend to smell less then males.
That’s all I can think of, here are some websites to show your mom. Good luck!
