How much does a full spay cost for a male cat?

Hello!
I live in Chicago and I have a cat almost 17 months. I have heard that the spay costs a lot, is it true?
Do you know any place which offers reasonable prices?
Please let me know.
Thank you.

Our vet runs a special once a year and would do it for $15 for cats. Check with your local vets and see if they also run specials. Don’t be afraid to call around. Chicago may be much higher priced than small town Missouri.
Just call your vet and ask, they quote over the phone.
Only females are spayed – that’s internal surgery. MALE cats are neutered, which is a far simpler proceedure and costs less.
Male neutering can be about $85. FEMALE neutering costs about $120-150.
Best to call around to find the best pricing in your area. You should call local rescue shelters too, they will know which vets offer discounts.
Me… kittyslave23… I know my place.
ASPCA will do it cheaply. I’ve used this program to neuter my cat with. Most of the vets have their own practice.

Male cats aren’t spayed. They are neutered or castrated. If you contact a local spca or humane society usually they offer low cost neutering usually not more than about $65.00 and sometimes alot less.
You NEUTER male cats and SPAY female cats. Spaying costs more, but since your cat is a male, it won’t.
I don’t know Chicago, but I’m sure there are plenty of veterinarians available to do that. A vet who specializes in cats may charge less, but call around. There may even be a spay/neuter clinic to take him to. I think you’ll find that most regular veterinary practices will charge about the same. For more advice on where to take him, call your local ASPCA or shelter.
Spays cost more than neuters because it is more complicated removing the reproductive organs of female cats as opposed to male cats, who’s reproductive organs are located on the outside.
You can’t have a male cat spayed as spaying is female specific.
It costs around $60-$120 to have a male cat neutered, although you may be able to find somewhere that does it for cheaper if enquire around.
