Birds not coming to my bird feeder?

I’ve had a bird feeder for quite a few years now hanging in the same spot of the same tree the whole time. It was only until 4 days ago that I decided to refill it with birdseed. Since then, I haven’t seen one single bird, only an occasional squirrel. What can I do to attract birds? I was thinking that since I’ve kept the bird feeder there unfilled they might have habituated to it. Should I change the position?

What could I build on or around this bird feeder to repel squirrels?

I have a platform (shelf) feeder that suctions onto my apartment window. I want to repel the squirrels that jump down from the roof onto it. What could I build onto or around the feeder or the window to stop them (without stopping birds from visiting.). I am pretty crafty so I’m willing to buy any supplies and tools to build something. Thank you.

How do I keep squirrels out of myh bird feeder?

This is a wire "squirrel-proof" feeder. The squirrels climb out on the narrow metal pole holding the feeder up. I don’t have a tree branch for the feeder to hang directly from. Any advice? Thanks!!

How to get the squirrels away from the bird feeder?

The bird feeder hangs from a branch. I tried putting half of a milk carton on top of it, and it worked for a little bit, but then they managed to get through to it. Then I pored some caster oil on the carton hoping the squirrel would slip, but it didn’t work. Does anyone have any ideas? I know that this is a silly subject, but please give your serious input.

Like a window feeder perhaps? Please remember that birds won’t fly south for the winter if they find a steady food source – this means once you start feeding them, you have to feed them straight through to Spring.

I have a Humming bird feeder and one humming bird who chases away all the others what can I do about this?

How common is it for a redheaded woodpecker to eat from a bird feeder?

Out of all the years we have had bird feeders in the yard we have never seen a woodpecker eat from one. They look pretty funny with their really long beaks. I have seen him getting worms/bugs out of the trees but never seed from the feeders. Not even from the suet feeder we have separate.

How Can cats be persuaded to stay away from a bird feeder?

We have a bird feeder close to a tree stump and the cat perches on the stump and when birds come to the feeder it tries to jump on the bird feeder and get the bird.

I’d like to feed whole peanuts to the blue jays in my yard. Do any of you know of a good peanut feeder that is squirrel-proof? Thank you.
I live in an apartment so I can’t put up anything elaborate. I just need a simple feeder or a way to protec the feeder from squirrels. Thanks.
