What I do not want to do is feed any invasive birds, like house sparrows, european startlings, or rock pigeons. Are there any seeds or suet cakes on the market that are rejected by these species? Are there any other tricks to feeding only native species? Thanks.

I tried putting half of a milk carton on top of it, and it worked for a little bit, but then they managed to get through to it. Then I pored some caster oil on the carton hoping the squirrel would slip, but it didn’t work. Does anyone have any ideas? I know that this is a silly subject, but please give your serious input.
