I used to have two cats but one passed away from cancer.
I used to change the box totally once a week.
Now, it is just one cat and the box is not nearly as dirty as quickly.
How often do you totally change and disinfect your cat’s box if you just have one cat?
There isn’t anywhere for the litter box to be on a table or hidden area. The dog has plenty of food. Her food does not have animal digest in it since I read that animal digest is poop and will give dogs a taste for it.
Is there a scent cats find offensive, that is also not harmful to the flora, which will keep the felines out?
My husband and I have found a pile of poop in our basement every time one of us cleans and/or changes the litter box. The cat starts using the litter box again right after that. Any ideas why or what we can do?

I have three cats in an apartment. My wife won’t allow me to get rid of the cats. We change it as often as possible, usually every 2-3 days. I can smell it the same day after changing it. I add baking soda normally, but with 3 cats I need something extra. Any "expert" advice or family secrets that will keep me from sending the cats to a farm up north.

What, is wrong with him? lol This only happens at my moms home. He could careless about our cats pooping when he’s home. Besides constantly cleaning the litter box, what else can we do? It is so nasty, to pick him up and his face smells like a$$ !
I’m thinking about getting a Cat Genie for my two cats. Is it a good thing to buy and is it worth it? Also, my cats won’t go anywhere near something that makes a lot of noise, so does it make a lot of noise? It would be great if you guys could answer soon:)
I just changed my cats litter box. Now she’s hanging out in it just resting with her front paws tucked under her body. She’s a very healthy cat, but it is hot here today. Could that be it?
I have a 6 month old cat and she has always used the litter box ever since we got her but for some reason now she won’t use it. She pees all over our clothes and on our bed and she poops on the kitchen floor every night. We did get a bigger cat box recently and we had to move it could this be why she won’t use it anymore? Any advice would be good cuz I don’t want to get rid of my kitty.
