How long should i turn on my aquarium light?

Im keeping a ten gallon planted tank with a low light setup(plants that does not need intense light)
and I understand that the more light, the more co2 and ferts you will need. So i dont like to use those so im just going to lights. How long should i turn on my light? Not to short that my plants will die and not to long that eventually i have to use co2 and ferts which is for me is a no no.

Is a 3050 lumen light too bright for aquarium?

Its a cool white 3050 lumen 48" bulb….had a 1900 lumen plant and aquarium light bulb but i didnt like how it looked it wasnt that bright…the cool white light makes the water look clean and brings out the color in the aquarium…but is it too bright for like the fish?

Is it okay to leave my aquarium light on for 5 days straight?

I am going on vacation for 5 days over Christmas. I bought an aquarium light timer but it doesn’t work. I dint have enough time to get a new one. I need the light on because I have a reef tank and my corals need the light. It is safe to leave the light on for that long?

I saw an aquarium on youtube that had what looked like grass on the bottom of the aquarium. I also saw vesuvius sword plants. Do any of you know what the grass is called? And where can I get it and the vesuvius sword plant? I have a 55 gal long aquarium.

How to prevent mold and mildew around a aquarium?

I have a 29 gallon aquarium and would like to move it inside but have had problems in the past with mold and mildew on the wall next to the aquarium. I cannot afford a dehumidifier, and this would actually replace our humidifier. I want to prevent the mold from happening in the first place, i already know how to get rid of it.
Not algae, MOLD, not on the aquarium on the WALL!

How can I rig good aquarium lighting for aquatic plants and tropical fish without spending a fortune?

I currently have a single T8 bulb and the plants are doing well. I at least want to add an additional bulb. Ideally I would like to have two T5 bulbs in a mirrored fixture, like the very expensive fixtures. My aquarium is on a strong shelf and there is another shelf one foot above the top of the aquarium.

Can aquarium salt be used in a tank with plants and corydoras?

Hi, all –

I’ve read that adding some freshwater aquarium salt to my tank (26 gallons) can have several benefits. However, I’ve also heard that the salt can damage plants and corydoras. Likewise, though, I’ve also heard that in lower concentrations, corys and plants can still do okay.

What’s your personal verdict? Can you provide a link or go into detail about personal experience on this? Thanks in advance!
