How do I introduce a kitten to ferrets with out anyone getting hurt?
I am moving soon and I was thinking about getting a new kitten. I have 4 ferrets that get along with my dogs. I know I wouldn’t have a problem with my dogs getting along with the new cat, but im not sure about ferrets. I know a lot of people have put there cat with there ferret and they get along just fine, but is there any special why I should go about doing this?

If you want to introduce any animal with another one and are nervous about how they’ll react, theres a simple thing that you can do to get them used to each other.
1. Put the cat in a seperate room for a while( you can be in there with it, just not the ferrets) let it play and run aroundto get its smell onto the items in the room. After a little while, take the cat out of the room and put the ferrets in the romm. Let them sniff around for a while and get used to the cats smell. After a few days, do the same thing only reversed.( ferrets in the room first)
2. introduce the cat and the ferrets to each other, put the cat in a cage ( one that it would be comfortable enough to stayi in for a little while) make sure the cat wont be able to reach out of the cage and grab the ferrets. Bring the ferrets out and let the cat and ferrets get used to being around each other. Let them associate the scent with the look and sound of the other animal. Again a few days later reverse this with the ferrets in the cage first.
3. finally, the big day. Put the cat and the ferrets into a room together, preferably a small room. Make sure that you are in the room with the animals to make sure noone gets hurt. Hopefully they will already be used to each other and either paly with each other or just ignore each other. If you did the steps right, you should have three very contenet animals that dont mind living together.
Hope i helped. I watch alot of animal shows and a situation very similar to this was on a show called "the dog whisperer" with ceaser millan.
Good Luck!
You could introduce them the way that some people introduce kittens to dogs: leash the ferrets, or keep them behind a cage or something. Bring the kitten to them, and let the kitten run around, and don’t make a big deal out of the whole thing. Then take a ferret out one by one? I’m not too sure, not having much experience concerning ferrets. Cute little buggers, though. If the ferrets have agreeable dispositions, I don’t think you’d have too much trouble getting them used to a cat.
