let them see each other occaionally it may take up to 2 weeks for them to get use dto each other . make sure you pay the mpst atention to the old cat so he dose not feel hes being replaced alow the cats to see echa othe rbut keep them seperated most of the time ( at night & when noones home especailly) let the litte kitten out on her intervles if they start fighting too much but the kitten back in her own room Do not lock up your original cat. and Do not lock them in a room togther these are snimals with instintcs not siblings fighting over a ball. at night aloow the original cat to sleep in a room with people and leave the kitten by herself after a week usually they will at least tollerate each other. aslo if both are males it will be more difficult then if they are both females or one of each just give it time and allow slow introductions maybe theyll become best buds fatser then you think.

if you have a baby gate or something..that would be best. You want them to be able to see each other without being able to touch (fight ..etc). Keep them separated at night and only allow contact when people are home to "referee"

Keep them separated for a while(until the kitten is a bit bigger and older) and let them sniff eachother through underneath the doors. it will slowly get them more used to eachother. Let them out in the same room for a while, but supervise them. After a while, your older cat might not be thrilled with the kitten, but they'll be used to them.

The old cat won't be too happy and they will fight and jockey for position for a couple of weeks. Let them have their small battles its really not going to get better until they get used to one another. But they will but its all about the cat's time.. not our time.

Slow introductions are always best. Cats often have an alpha personality and do not take to new cats easily. Give them time and slowly introduce them to eachother. Do not force them on eachother. But if the old cat will let you hold her/him while your sister slowly approaches carrying the kitten that might help while they sniff and check eachother what while being restrained (not in a mean way) and in the safety of your arms.
One is just trying to show their dominance in the house. And get used to the change

that is easy ... well this is what you do Number one... go into your house and let the other cat smell the new one... then lock them in a room with a space but no to much... then it will take time.

The hissing is perfectly normal. It will take time for the two of them to get use to one another but if you constantly keep them separated, they will never become accustomed to each other. Just stay in the room and let them sniff each other out. They will probably hiss and may even bat at each other. Just let them. Soon, they will either become friends, or they will decide they don't like each other, and will just keep their distance.
