How to build a pet door, or keep cats out of a room?
I am trying to keep my two kittens contained to portion of the house, however everything I have tried has not worked. I have installed a folding door with two locks and they have broken through that. I have put up a large piece of plywood to cover the door opening and they manage to jump over it or push through the cracks. I am trying to find the most inexpensive way to create an easy way to block cats out of a room through a door/hallway opening, but have it have easy access to enter through.

Get a cheap screen door frame with a spring to hold it closed and a net from home depot or something. It won’t cost a lot and it’s pretty much the only thing that’ll work. If you try using folding screens for pets, they’ll get through it and if not now, they will once they grow a little, so you’ll have to keep re-doing it. Make sure you don’t leave more than half an inch on the bottom or they’ll squeeze through.
The one important thing is the net. If you get a mosquito net, they’ll scratch through it, so get something made of steel.
This way it’ll last as long as you have the cats and you won’t have to keep spending money on it. It’s not the prettiest solution, but it’s the most efficient for inside a house and better than a door, since you can still yell through it.
Um…. There are these wooden framed cage sides to put up. Put that there (like 2-3 stacked onto eachother/To make it reach da top or close) and try that. OR go to the vet (if they scratch and that’s the problem) and have their nails removed.
