If I put one out this year is there a chance that I will still get a resident this year?

Never a wrong time to place a bird-house out…go for it! You my not know what particular resident you will get because many bird houses are made for particular types of birds. You may notice how the perches are on some bird feeders…they too are made for specific birds to eat the seeds…as well as the seeds they eat show which birds are attracted to the feeders. Same goes for birdhouses…some openings being very small of course won’t accomodate some feathered ones…IF by chance you put up a purple martin house then you will not get them this year…maybe just scouters next year, then the scouters find your house again when it is season for them to return…so make sure you left the house up & ready for them! Otherwise you will lose your opportunity for the Purple Martins to return every year …year after year!
Your lil bird house may be a nice home for some little sparrows or spatzies this first attempt…make sure you place it where no other predators can get to it! have fun enjoying the feathered ones~
i don’t knoe
We put out 3 bird feeders last week and the bird food is already gone. The birds even fought over the food. With as many birds we had feeding of the feeders, I don’t see you having problems with receiving new tenants in your bird house
They claim they findings lol very cute, good luck
There is plenty of time.
Tree swallows have just started to build. It’s not to late to get other birds too.
No, its not to late.
