It’s only the canned food.
and pedigree is on the list!
dry is safe
can gravy isn’t!!!
check the list
this question was asked yesterday
do a search someone listed all the brands and sites
The recall was not for Pedigree, it was a company that makes store brand dog for, Wal-Mart, Food Lion, Pet Smart, and other grocery store chains, not really for the name brand stuff like Pedigree.
These are purina brands. Purina is made by its own company, not menu foods. Purina brands are not part of this recall.
You should check the website.

Purina is not on the list.

click on the links under product information.
They have recalled 3 oz., 5.5 oz., 6 oz. and 13.2 oz. canned cat food, and
3 oz. and 5.3 oz. foil pouch cat food, and
wet dog food products made by Menu Foods but sold under the Iams and Eukanuba brands. A complete list of brand names is in the link.
No dry foods have been recalled.
Pedigree is not on the list.
YES IT IS GOOD TO FEED….TRUST ME I WORK IN A PETSHOP….
At this point there is none on either of these foods.
These foods however are low quality filled with lots of cheap fillers and not enough meat protein.
It would probably be prudent to check the press releases numerous times per day. They have added quite a few since the first announcement of a recall. Purina products (Pedigree, Friskies, Fancy Feast) are indeed on the list. Hill Science Diet and Purina were added two days ago.
I saw that Lily said that Pedigree is on the list, but I did not find it on the list I saw. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17689821/print/1/displaymode/1098/
My 5 year old healthy, indoor lab/chow mix died Monday from kidney failure. We have been feeding her pedigree for quite some time, but a week ago ran out so we picked up a different kind of pedigree dry food from a nearby kroger. A week later she died. I started noticing symptoms Sat night, vomiting and diarreha. After researching her symptoms online most of the day on Sunday I come to the conclusion it was renal failure. Then I caught the 8 o clock news and saw the story. I thought this cannnot be a coincidence. We had her bloodwork done Monday morning at 9 and then she died at 2 pm. We got the bloodwork back later that day confirming my research, renal/kidney failure. She went from a perfectly healthy dog to this in 2 days. I’ve been trying to warn everyone I know with pets to not take the news as the truth.. they may not know the scope of the issue. We even tried to alret Fox news to get the word out. I am not sure what to believe, but she was perfectly healthy, always crated if I am not there, and only goes outside to use the bathroom and then wants back in.. thats how she was.. there are no toxins she could have gotten into………. when we got the results back from the vet he sd her BUN level was 125. He actually used the phrase "like she had gotten into rat poison or something of that nature" this is pissing me off. no one wants to listen.. everyone’s saying its just the wet food bc thats what they hear on tv. There are going to be more and more reported cases of dry food (PEDIGREE) being linked to this. But I cant get the word out on anything but yahoo answers. pedigree wont return calls, fda, fox news, no one.
You may have already found your answer. Just in case:….
Pedigree is Safe. Go to Pedigree website:
They have a statement that says the following:
Dog lovers,

I have 2 puppies 7mos and 9mos old that eat the soft Pedigree pouches mixed with their dry dog food. I took them to get blood work yesterday at emancipet, $20 each and they check out okay. They are big ~65lb dogs. I wonder if smaller dogs are more prone to the rat poison chemical they found in the recalled Menu Foods Dog and Cat food. They are reporting 15 cats and only 1 dog has died from eating the recalled, contaminated food.
