I have one of those Hagen Glo Ballast to power my T5 flourescent light and after about 30 minutes or so, the ballast itself gets extremely hot and I can smell somewhat of a burning ‘plastic’ smell.

It is a new product, so is it normal?

Thanks;
Dan

I have a golden, and I walk it each day 2 times for 30 minutes each. We have recently moved to a new home with its own field. Would it be one of the daily exersizes to let it run around in the field for 30 minutes , and walk it only once a day?
Thanks for the advice

Will my mini rex bunny be pregnant?

This is my bunny, Priscillas 2nd litter. The first one died. I mated Priscilla with my male bunny, Elvis. I was going to sell Priscilla’s litter at the grange fair (only in centre hall PA and I show rabbits at the fair.) but they died so I decided to breed them again. They where breeding for one hour and 7 minutes. Then I put Priscilla back in her hutch. Will she have babies? Is that long enough? If she will, how many babies will she have? Last time they mated for 30 minutes and she had 5 dead babies. Is she pregnant??????????
I need better answers people! Your not even helping me! And the LITTER died not the FEMALE and I’m doing nothing wrong! It’s common for the 1st litter to die

Dog Walking Service – how much would you pay?

Hey, I don’t know that much about dog walking services but i’m thinking of starting one so I don’t have to be away from my dog for 9 hours out of the day. So do you guys have any ideas? Would you pay to have your dog walked 1 mile? I’ve got a lot of it figured out, but I need some ideas…I’m kind of wanting to make this a full time job so I can be with my puppy and go to school. If you have any questions you want to ask, please contact me on Yahoo messenger, or if you ask it on here, then keep an eye open because I will respond to it quickly.
I’m in Oklahoma and i’m fixing to move to the city to be closer to the school I go to…I think if it was available, it might have a high demand. One mile would take about 25 to 30 minutes, with a dog, I think. I can walk a mile in…I think 22 minutes was my time in JROTC, something like that. But you think I should charge by time instead of miles? It would end up being per half hour. Would you pay that?
Actually sweet heart, it’s not day dreaming. I can actually turn this into a business. At rate, if I walk 5 dogs, that’s 00 a month, which is enough to cover my expenses and then some. So before you start cutting people down for thinking about actually having time to be with their animals, do the math.
And you need to learn how to spell.
sweet – thank you for your input. I have thought about a lot of what you’ve mentioned and am still looking into it.

misbehaving – actually, I have. Thank you though.

My sisters guinea pig is dead. It is her birthday?

My sister’s birthday was on the 7th of July. She turned 11.
On the 7th I said I would take care of the guinea pig. I said that because it had some signs of death. I told her I will do the job for a few days.

We have not celebrated her birthday yet. My Mom is a flight attendant, and she had to fly to New York, rest, then come back. She came back last night.

My Dad is a lawyer. He had to go to Georgia for a lawsuit case. He came back on Thursday night.

We can’t do the party today because my Dad’s cousin got married last night, and they are having another party today.

We need to rest on Sunday. On Monday the whole family is getting together to celebrate her birthday, at the beach. We have done a lot of traveling this summer and we still will. We already went to Hawaii for 2 weeks, A Lake, Virginia, and DC. Our last summer vacation will be in October. Then fall begins.

So I checked on the guinea pig today. He is 6 years old. Pretty old. He spent 1 year with the breeder and 1 year with the pet store and 1 year with an abusive family. Then we got him and we have had him for 3 years. We have took good care of him. The maximum of what he needs.

My sister doesn’t really have any friends, so that guinea pig was her only friend.

2 years ago, my sister transfered schools. 30 minutes away. She used to go to a school with 300 kids per grade. At her new school, she had 100 kids per grade. She used to be popular, at her old school the best of friends she could get is 3. But she treated everybody like a friend. But since she was the ‘new kid’ she doesn’t have any friends. She is going to middle school next year. 4 schools together. Her old school is going to that middle school, so she will have her friends back and make new friends too.

In a few weeks, she is going to have a 100 kid birthday party. Some from her old school, her new school (4), extra curriculars, etc.
___________________________________________________________________________

I am asking this because I want to ask you, is this a good gift?

My parents are divorced, and for birthday presents, I told them I am getting her something big. I told them a puggle. Half pug, half beagle. She loves both breeds dearly. So I got permission from both sides. My Dad and his girlfriend gave me 0 and so did my mom and step-dad to be.

I met this breeder. She lives 40 minutes away. She breeds 10 different breeds. Popular ones. I asked her the price. She said in this economy, and her popular dogs, she will offer less to get more. She said 0 each with a crate and toy the dog has been playing with since birth and the birth video and a photo album of her.

I looked at the selection of her puggles. There is a 6 week year old one as of today. She was a fawn, female. She was so sweet. We can get her next week. I asked my sister yesterday "If you got a dog, what would you name it?" she said "If its a boy, Harper. If its a girl, Nina."

Supplies will be under 0 and I have cut out a lot of coupons, and my cousin has gave me some donations of things.

We will get her next Saturday, when we come back from the beach. It will be My Dad, his girlfriend, My sister, me, My mom and her fiance.

Is this a good plan?:

When we come back, we will stop at a place. We will tell her this is a birthday gift. I told her a bike. But my moms fiance will deliver that to her when she comes home with him. We will take all the dog stuff out of the van. We will put her there. And they can meet.

Is this a good plan?

Thanks for info you can provide!

Do you or have you ever worked in RETAIL?

What annoys you about customers? Here’s a few of my pet peeves. Please share yours. And do not mind me, I am really in a raggy mood after working my fifth holiday season in a metro area, retail chain.

People coming in two minutes before the store closes to browse for 30 minutes and not buy anything.

What do customers do that annoys you?

When you try to ask "how are you" and they cut you off mid sentence and say "im just looking." Ge-ez…As much as you think I am pouncing on you at the door, I am doing my job by being polite and I really do not care how your doing. I am a human being…you can look me in the eye and say, "Im fine, we are just browsing."

When a customer throws change all over the counter and expects me to pick it all up.

When a customer brings in 10 expired coupons that are "one per customer per day" and expects me to honor them all (And actually has the nerve to catch an attitude because I only let them use one…I am giving them a courtesy by letting them use one!). Wouldn’t you be embarrassed to do that?

They ask you how much something costs and the tag is clearly marked in BIG BOLD LETTERS on every item in the store. Just Look and Try before you ask for help.

Do you punish a dog that eliminates in its crate?

I have a 9 week old German Shepherd that I just got yesterday, I take her outside to eliminate regularly, almost every 30 minutes or so and she produces.

Today I took her outside, let her roam around for about five minutes and when she did not produce I put her in her crate and went to the bank. Not more than an hour later I returned to find that she had eliminated (feces) in her crate. I did not punish her due to the fact that I have read that you do not punish the dog if you do not catch it in the act or shortly there-after. I took her outside, she did not eliminate, I gave her a bath and put her in the clean half of the crate (a large crate with a divider.)

My question is primarily: if she does do this again, do I allow her to wallow in it and suffer? Does this teach her a lesson? Or do I proceed as I previously had?
This was not an intention of cruelty, for those of you who have rebuked me with snide remarks.

I did not allow the dog to suffer in it the first time and was merely wondering if that was the correct thing to do.

I will also never hit her, for those of you who inquired what I thought "punishment" to be. I neatly grab her by the scruff of her neck and give a firm and authoratitive "NO." She has never whimpered in this proccess and I know I am not hurting her.

I am also aware of how young nine weeks is. I am not expecting this to be easy or an overnight success. My patience is eternal and I am merely seeking advice.
"Scruffing," as it has been referred to, is the method Ruhe’s vet recommended. I am inclined to listen to a man who is alledgedly educated on the subject, and with his given example of behavior correction while I was there and the experience I have had with her, I believe it to be effective.

Anyone know the clear cut signs that your dog may/has heartworm? Are there signs or is the only way to know if they do to take them and have blood drawn?

Are all dogs born with heartworms?
Or do you know any websites that will answer my question? I am very new to the internet and it takes me at least 30 minutes to MAYBE find what I’m looking for. It’s too late to call the vet too.
