I came back from vacation from work and my co-worker said my fish was slumped over. I think he is dying but I looked up a few things and he seems to have symptoms of Dropsy. It is a real condition. What medications can I buy from the pet store to give him a fighting chance?
UPDATE: I was honestly just going to put the fish out of misery because he really looked like he was a goner. I made an extra effort and looked online for possible medications. I feel he may be to far advanced but I bought Aquarium salt to promote recovery, Maracyn-Two for Dropsy and Tetracycline to help with his tail fray and possible other infections. He is not slumped over anymore but he looks like hell.
Update. I am pretty sure it is dropsy. I looked at pictures and his scales are up like a porcupine which is part of the description of the the condition. If caught early he may have a chance
Update: 11/22. Well I am came to work expecting the worse and that is what I found. At some point Azul passed away. I think it had happened pretty recently. His scales were actually looking alot better than they did but I think the condition progressed to far. I wrapped in up and he departed down the old porcelain king. Thnx for your replies and help

The box on my aquarium salt says "evaporated from sea water" so is it the same as sea salt?

I found some pretty cool stones, and I want to use them in my cichlid aquarium. They’re not porous, they’re slabs of rock.
Right now I have them soaking in boiling water, and a high concentration of aquarium salt.
Will they be safe in my aquarium after this?
I expect the hot water and salt to kill any microorganisms that may hard my fish.
I just hate paying for a dumb rock at the store. How do they prepare their rocks to be aquarium safe?

I just a bought 2 apple snails the size of 3 quarters in a triangle, but round, and put them into a 29 gallon tank, with aquarium salt, and they haven’t moved yet. Its been 2 days. I just moved them into a 10 gallon tank without aquarium salt to see if they would move. No sign of movement yet, only been 5 min. What do I do?

I have a 10 gallon tank with one betta, four mollies & two golden mystery snails. I have read that both bettas & mollies like a small amount of aquarium salt in their water. Will this also agree with the snails?
If so, how much salt do I add?

I just bought a new fish tank that I’m filling with freshwater fish tomorrow, but I need to know if its absolutely necessary to have a canister of aquarium salt in there. Petco does it. I’ve never seen it done before so what, if any, are the benefits?
