I am going on vacation for 5 days over Christmas. I bought an aquarium light timer but it doesn’t work. I dint have enough time to get a new one. I need the light on because I have a reef tank and my corals need the light. It is safe to leave the light on for that long?

I saw an aquarium on youtube that had what looked like grass on the bottom of the aquarium. I also saw vesuvius sword plants. Do any of you know what the grass is called? And where can I get it and the vesuvius sword plant? I have a 55 gal long aquarium.

I’m wondering if I can use the aquarium light from my small fish tank as a temporary grow light for a single plant?

I currently have a single T8 bulb and the plants are doing well. I at least want to add an additional bulb. Ideally I would like to have two T5 bulbs in a mirrored fixture, like the very expensive fixtures. My aquarium is on a strong shelf and there is another shelf one foot above the top of the aquarium.

So I have a 10 gallon tank with a betta, a snail, and an amano shrimp. There is an unknown species of live plant and some dwarf hairgrass in there, too. So I’ve never really calculated how long I leave my aquarium light on for, but I found out I leave it on for, like, 16 hours a day. How long should I be leaving it on for? I have an excessive amount of algae growth and it’s not pretty.

We just bought an aquarium for our boys and five gold-fish… the tank has a light in it (full-spectrum, according to the box) and we’re wondering if we should leave the light on over-night or not.

I have lots of live plants in my aquarium, they are growing very fast because they have a good light, should i cut the top of the plants off and then plant them in the gravel?
Thanks
