I am setting up a tank for a betta fish, and need to keep the aquarium at 80 degrees Fahrenheit. How much wattage would I need to keep this temperature in a 5 gallon tank?

What can be added to distilled water to make it good for betta fish?

I have this Betta fish that I’ve kept in distilled water for over a year because I heard it’s best for them. After some research I learned that distilled water is actually a bad choice because it’s purified and the minerals the fish need are taken out. Does anyone know what kind of water is best to use for bettas or how to make distilled water better for them to live in?

I might get a betta fish, and put him in a 5 gallon aquarium. I’m assuming that he will need a heater or can he go without one? Anyway, if he needs a heater, is there one that would be small enough for a 5 gallon tank? How would I use this filter-like the directions on how to set it up? Also, could you include any tips or suggestions you have? Thanks.

How do I treat betta fish water without water conditioners?

My 9 year old sister bought a betta fish with her own money because it is a really cheap pet.
She doesn’t have the money to buy water conditioner, but I’m not sure if we should use tap water.

Can I just boil the water & let cool to remove the chlorine, or… what should I do to treat the water without spending any additional money?

Can you tell me some of the common plants that are used in betta fish tanks, at least 3 of them? And how to take care of them?
Actually I didn’t get the fish tank or the fish itself yet. I just need to know what type of plants can go in a betta fish tank and how to take care of them so when I’m choosing plants, I’ll know which ones. I prefer long stringy plants that aren’t hard to take care of. I guess betta fish like those.
