The reason why i am asking this for is because tomorrow i am getting a new bird cage for my parakeet it is a triple roof one because the current cage since i have him for 1 yr now is small and i was wondering if the putting a nylon mesh seed guard on his new cage will prevent spilling and the dimensions of the cage are 26X14X221/2 and what size nylon mesh seed guard to i need to buy also

i have this wooden bird cage that i want to fix up a bit before putting my cockatiels in
and i wanted to sand down the wood a little bit and then polish it
is it safe to polish the cage?
and also i’m looking for trays for the cage

Thanks Jeanbug – I agree that it’s a furnishing, but does it fit the more specific category of furniture? This is for a school assignment and I have to make sure that it’s really part of that classification.
Ah sorry, I forgot to put this in the original question, but it’s just a small-ish, wooden bird cage, not one of the huge ones that looks like a table.

I have an expressive arts exam this week and I have to complete a project in three days at school about something based on pirates, I have chosen to make a bird cage and with a parrot inside of it (not a real one) and there is also a story behind it, a poem of a parrots view of the ship and what he sees every day. The bird cage cannot be real I will have to make it out of every day materials, does anyone have any ideas?

i have an old bird cage that’s been sitting in my garage and i just got a new parakeet. the older parakeet that was here before it doesn’t like the new parakeet, so i’m just going to put one parakeet in the small cage and the other in the larger cage right next to it, so that they get used to eachother without being aggressive and/or territorial. how to i make this new bird feel at home in the cage? is there anything i can do to stop my older, aggressive bird from picking fights with the new one? thx

I’m trying to sell a white iron bird cage. I’ve looked up other cages but different websites say various costs. I don’t want to lose money or screw someone over.

It is at least 62" tall (exterior), maybe 40" interior and 18" – 20" wide (aprox.)
There is a playtop area, 4 dishes, and a wooden perch.

It has a pull away clean up tray, vertical bars, and is stationed on four wheels.

sorry if this is a dumb question lol but i’m really wondering, can newborn parakeets hop out of the spaces in a bird cage if they’re not inside a proper nest during the time they are growing?
and also, about how long does the mother stay with it’s baby parakeet until it’s safe for it to wander on it’s own?
thanks!..i wasn’t even thinking about breeding my birds. but today i came in the room and saw them mating on the perch! they don’t even have a nest! is there certain types of fruits i should put in the cage for the baby parakeet?
