I’ve never kept birds before, but just today inherited 2 parakeets from my mother, who had them about a month. When she got them from the pet store they gave her a discount on one of the females because they were sure she’d die in the next 72 hours. According to the pet store she was egg bound, how-ever it’s been a little over a month and despite numerous hours of rubbing oil on her and keeping her warm, the bump is still hanging off her rear end. I’m going to add in a nesting box to see if that will help, but I’m thinking since she’s lived so long, that maybe the pet store was wrong and this is something else? I’d like to take her to the vet, but I just cannot afford it. So any ideas, expirences would be helpful! Thank You All!

I just recently bought a bird-feeder designed for goldfinches, and I’m really excited. But do you think that if I leaved the bird-feeder out all the time some of the birds would come back a lot? I was just wondering.

I adopted her in September when she appeared at my door and took her to the Vets for shots etc. They said she had parasites from drinking bad water outside, also worms from eating rodents or birds I guess and she was treated for anything necessary. She had been fine up until 4 or 5 days ago. The only thing changed is the brand of friskies. I do have 3 other cats and are all fine.

I have a double shephard’s hook….one hook I have a bird feeder with seed in it, and on the other hook I have corn for the squirrels.
When should I take this down? I haven’t seen any squirrels lately but birds are still coming to eat.

One of my cats Jazmin has recently developed a problem… she has started eating birds, squirrels, etc. It probably isn’t the best thing for her stomach, because she just pukes it up. and it’s not like I don’t feed her. Her diet mainly consists of like friskies cat food or sometimes fancyfeast. is there anything I can do to make her stop?
