I was wondering if anyone could help me find the Ingredients to Friskies Stuffed Morsels cat food??
(it doesn’t say on the website)
Does anyone recommend it?
Do your cats eat it?
if not
What dry food do you feed your cat?
How do I transition my cat to a new brand of food?
Thanks
There’s a site that gives addresses for coupon donations to military commissaries, and I didn’t know if I should include dog food, cat food, etc coupons.
My dachshund is overweight, and everytime I take her to the vet, I have to hear how overweight dachshund are prone to back problems and I get depressed. I know I have to help her with her weight problem-but here’s my dilemma. I want her to enjoy her food too, if she doesn’t-she sneaks cat food. Right now I’m feeding her Nutro-Natural choice for Overweight dogs. She loves it. But she doesn’t really seem to loose weight with it, but doesn’t gain either. But when my vet had me put her on the low-cal Science Diet she actually gained weight because she would sneak any food she found anywhere, because she hated it. Help! I want my pooch to be happy and healthy.
I took my cat to the vet the other day because she seemed sick. It turned out she has some sort of infection of the urniary tract possibly due to crystals forming in her urine. Since this happened to her, she won’t be able to eat regular food anymore (Friskies, Meow Mix etc.) because those types of foods caused the crystals to form.
For the next couple of weeks I have to feed her some perscription food to help break up the crystal formations. Then after that, the vet told me that I have to buy this certain cat food to prevent this from happening again and it’s bucks a 4 lb. bag!
I don’t mind paying for more expensive food, but I was hoping if anyone had any information on places where you can buy special diet type foods for less than what you would pay at the vet.
Also, if anyone knew of a comparable food to buy in place of the expensive stuff that would be just as effective.
Thanks for the help.
I live in a remote area of Canada, and the only types of cat food that are available locally are the mass market supermarket brands (Whiskas, Purina, Purina ONE, Iams, etc.). The only available premium type brand is Science Diet. I know that a lot of people recommend the all natural brands like Nutro, Innova, etc, and that in the US, these brands are typically similar in price to Purina ONE or Iams. However, the cost of purchasing these in Canada as well as shipping them to my location makes anything not available locally cost prohibitive.
Of the major brands, which are the best for my cats? Looking at ingredient lists alone, Iams appears to heavily by product and corn meal laden. Purina One appears to be somewhat better than Science Diet. Any suggestions?
I call the 800 number and no one answers and when I call PetCo and Petsmart they said they can’t comment on dry food.
What recommendations do you have for good healthy cat food. That has not been recalled.
I have a 3 week old kitten. She is being breastfed by her mother.
But I think she is teething. When would she be ready to eat cat food?
My cat, who is 18 years old, has recently developed quite the sensitive stomach. He has an upset tummy nearly every day, & I think it’s probably his food. I’m trying to find one that fits all 3 qualifications, but I can’t seem to find a cat food for senior and sensitive stomach. He’s been eating Iams indoor senior formula, and I’m considering switching him to Nutro Senior, because it says it’s easy to digest. Has anyone else used Nutro, or have any suggestions for a good brand of senior sensitive stomach food?
Another cat food question, haha.
Anyways, reading all the bad ingredients including BHA and BHT and all the grains in the regular cat treats, and those dried up all natural treats running at high price(not to mention they ARE dried), I was wondering how good of an idea it would be to just buy a piece of, say, organic chicken breast, freeze it in an appropriate container, and feed it in little parts to the cat as a treat instead(once thawed)? I’m assuming the cat would benefit from nutrients and enjoy it more.
Additional: adult, petite cat, who likes wet food, doesn’t have preference of fish to chicken and vice versa.
Yes, the cat DOES eat a nice helping of wet food every day, it does not contain any crap found in regular food as it’s one of the better/natural brands.
