I have 2 cats, one of them eats the prescription cat food that I mentioned and my other cat eats a mixture of the other 2 cat foods that I mentioned. Both of my cats still seem to be healthy, but I figured that I’d be safe than sorry, by asking about this on here.

My cat has been eating Friskies Special Diet, both wet and dry, for about four years now. And I have not yet seen anything wrong with him. Does that mean that the Friskies brand for cats is safe for them to eat.? I have looked online at so many sites about the recalled food, I’ve also called the number to Friskies(Nestle Purina) and they said that their cat food was not on any of the recalled pet food lists. I’m really wondering if this true or not. Should I continue to feed my cat Friskies?

I have a 4 week old kitten that has just been weaned off the bottle and is now eating Royal Canin baby cat food. I am giving her about 1 can per day depending on how hungry she is, and she is responding well. I have also been diluting KMR with water and mixing it in with the food to keep her hydrated as much as possible. However, I am afraid that she is not getting enough fluids.

What should I do to make sure she is staying hydrated?

He was against the idea of better quality cat foods from the start! We originally had the cat on cans of Wellness trout and salmon and wellness CORE. He kept saying it was too expensive and it is totally pointless and the cat doesn’t care what she gets.. One day my boyfriend was so fed up with with this so called "nonsense" when Tigger was out of food I asked if my BF could go get him a few cans of Wellness for her. Since I was picking my little nephew up from preschool. Instead he bought a big bag of purina cat chow and 6 cans of friskies. He opened the bag so I wouldn’t be able to take it back and he gave the cat cat chow and friskies. And he said to Tigger as he looked at me "See Tigger" no need for the fancy smancy cat food. I bet this stuff is no different! I’m so mad at him! How can I help guide him in the right direction!
Oh and when I rushed to the bowl and snatched it away from Tigger my BF laughed at him and texted his friends about it. But purina is such a crappy food! it has fillers and dead,dying,and,diseased animal meat that had been rejected for human consumption. It is over all a disgusting food. I read the book "the food pets die for" and now I vowed to never feed those products again.
I gave him MY money to buy cat food so i’m not sure what he is so bothered about.

might may have cancer the vets are still trying to diagnose. she has become extremely picky with what she eats. i purchased 43 cans of cat food all different companies and flavors and opened each one until i found one she likes. The problem is the food she devours is not the healthiest one out that. I usually buy premium cat food. She is eating the sliced beef with gravy food by friskies. Do you know of any higher quality foods that are comparable to these in texture and flavor.. i thinks he likes the beef gravy. If my cat is sick i dont want to feed her a low quality food however if this is all she will eat i suppose it is better than nothing but anyone my real question is What premium food brands have a juicy gravy beef selection. She hates pate food. thank youuu.

I see a lot of you frowning upon these foods, and my two adult male cats (8 years old in November) have all eaten Nine Lives, Friskies, and brands like it, their whole lives, and they’re all in tip-top shape. My kitten Heap (about 10-12 weeks) is on Meow Mix Kitten Kibbles. I’m just wondering if there is any real valid point behind all of the criticism, or if you all just expect everyone to be paying at least 10 dollars for a bag of ‘quality’ cat food?

yes, insulting my parenting skills isn’t rude at all. ;]

point is – my cats are all happy, healthy, and just as wonderful feeling as they would be on whatever ‘premium’ cat brands you could suggest.
…they just died a couple years ago. |: and no, my kitten is indoor, and my older males are indoor-outdoor, just as hers were. They actually have more land to roam on than she did.
indigo ; i hardly think something as drastic and serious as smoking is comparable to cats on a healthy diet, just not deemed the absolute best. It’s good for the money, and they enjoy it, and are all in a perfect state of mental and physical health.
another note — my vet says my cats current diet is completely fine for them.

9 Lives, Friskies, etc.? My cats are currently eating Natural Balance, and it’s not agreeing with them. I am NOT interested in continuing with any fancy grain free, holistic, etc. cat food. I’ve tried several kinds, and they either won’t eat it or it messes up their bowels. What’s the best kind I can buy at Kroger or Wal Mart?

She is currently on Medi-Cal Dissolution cat food for 3 months to absorb the crystals. I just bought a big bag of Nutro Natural Choice Complete Care Indoor Adult Cat food a couple of weeks ago. After the 3 months is up, can I feed her the rest of this Nutro food until the bag is done, then put her on the Medi-Cal maintenance food to prevent crystals reoccurring? Or should I suck up my loss of from Nutro and go directly to the Medi-Cal maintenance food after the 3 months is up?

(We got kitty a couple of months ago from SPCA. She is Siamese/Persian mix. Probably was given up because she was peeing outside of the litterbox and the owners probably didn’t know better to take her to the vet. I took her to the vet and they found crystals in her urine. Was feeding her premium cat food since we got her.)
I have been feeding her a bit of wet food with her dry food. Some days she’d eat a teaspoon/day, sometimes none. Today I added water to wet food, heated it, and she ate some of it. (Right now I am just introducing the Medi-Cal into her diet so she doesn’t get intestinal problems, will be on a strict Medi-Cal diet on Saturday.)
Canadian I am. Doesn’t surprise me that Nutro is better than Medi-Cal, which is why I wanted to ask my question…. thanks.

I heard that many cats that are "fixed" tend to grow fat. I adopted a 5 year old male cat and what is the best healthy non fatty cat food available? (right now im feeding him Friskies) Is there anything I can buy for him that will make him exercise? Maybe making him an outdoor cat will help? (im scared that he’ll get runed over, kidnapped or lost)

i got a hellthy male cat from angles for animals and i try meow mix and he barfs after he eats it ,but friskies we got a coulple times and he eat it 24-7……. he was stuck on diet cat food when he was at the shelter now is friskies good for him?….he ways about 20 lbs…….when we got him he was about 13 lbs that was about a year or to ago….now he makes this asma noise and so does my other male cat…..whats that mean?
