My vet likes to answer "myths" about pet health and I was wondering if you guys had any?
For example:
Dogs eat poop because their diet is lacking nutrition.
Cats eat grass because they are sick.
Use oil for mange. (btw oil is toxic)
Cats get fat once they are "fixed."
Dawn Dishsoap kills fleas.
etc.
Thanks, and have fun!
my small dog just started laying in the cat box, even when it is clean.how can i stop this as he does get litter all over him.
the box is in a closet. he is the size of my cats.could he be trying to use it for his dutys instead of going out?
Our two cats are running laps around the house, fighting with each other and being all around hyper since yesterday. We think it’s due to the full moon. I read once that pet emergency rooms (as well as human ones) are usually the most busy during the nights of a full moon. I’m wondering if any of you have experienced this crazy full-moon behavior with your pets OR with yourselves?
So I have two cats and we keep there liter box in the bath…and that is Goodd thing because they fling litter everywhere. I was just wondering is a liter box that was covered and had an entrance to it would help keep the liter in the liter box. I didn’t know if it would work because I do have a big cat 16 pounds and I didn’t know if we could fit in it.
Thanks

I am looking for some cat health insurance for 2 cats. 4 and a 5 year old. I heard that it is very expensive. Any suggestions?
I feed my cats Purina cat chow. I want the best for my cats, and I want to know, is this really healthy for them? I can only feed them dry food. What food is better for them?
I got my cats a new scratching post for Christmas and they all avoid using it..I even rubbed catnip on it…and hid their old one…but they just look at me sadly like where is my old little scratching post.? .I thought it would help my one cat especially because he had a broken leg early in his life and lays down to use it the small one…I’d hoped he would want to stretch his leg while getting his manicure, but avoids it. as they all do.. ..Any suggestions to get them to use it?
She eats and likes Ceasers (and sometimes gets greenbeans, chicken, carrots and other safe unspiced human grade foods,
But never dairy, cocoa, grapes/raisins, coffee, or seasoned foods, splintering bones,etc..)
but she shuns hard foods
in fact the only hard food she was eating was the meow mix she stole from the cats when we lived with them,
now she isn’t eating any hard food
I won’t feed her Iams (or other Iams owned brands) or kibbles
but what dog food should I feed her instead? (nothing crazy expensive)
And what are some healthy treats she would like?
I want to feed her something healthy.
I’ve heard vegetarian dog food was good for dogs (but expensive)
but I doubt she’d eat it, anyone have luck with this?
The oldest living dog ("Bramble"?) was vegan and ate brown rice in lentils
should I be feeding her stuff like that?
What about her teeth?
Some good advice would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks
