I have a 55 gallon aquarium, it’s about three weeks old but the filter cartridges are pretty dirty already. There is also a lot of debris like tiny pieces of dead plant and whatnot that is stuck to them and behind them.

Anyway, I know all the rules for rinsing cartridges (don’t use hot or warn or cold water, dont use soap, detergent, or any other chemicals, etc) but what I’m wondering is, is it too soon to rinse the cartridges that I have now (in terms of bacteria longevity) or will it be okay?

Also, it’s a freshwater, tropical tank.

This website says that comercial foods for you’re dog can kill you’re dog because of the "Preservitives" and "Chemicals" in the food. I wonder if Iams is a good dog food. And it concerns me alot. I only trusted Iams because it said it was "Vet Recommended". Do you guys think/know if Iams Proactive is good for my dog?

Is there any dangerous chemical properties in the rubber chew toys that we give to our dogs? Out of curiosity I licked a new rubber chew toy I just bought, it tasted NASTY BITTER !!! What chemicals are there in the rubber toys? Are there any carcegenous elements in the materials they use to make the rubber toy?

There are misquetos eveywhere in my dog kennels. I know there is misqueto spray at petsmart, but i prefer not to put chemicals on my dogs. Does anyone know of anything I can do to keep them away? Thanks!

Do you treat your dogs all year round with heartgaurd and advantix? I live in the North east and was thinking with the cold weather i could keep my girl off the chemicals for Dec-Feb…Please let me know your experiences and thoughts…Star for contacts please…I am in between Vets cause my last one questioned why I would rescue a pitbull, an dI dont know my new one who has 2 pits of her own!!

My cat is an outdoor cat with long hair.
He gets a few mats and tangles every now and then, but most of them come out easily if we catch them soon enough.
He also rolls around in dirt and climbs trees and stuff, so he gets dirty.
My question is, how often should I brush my cat and give him a bath to help him stay clean and healthy?

He’s 6 years old and in excellent health.
The reason I bathe him is because he has fleas in the summer. He’s also around the chemicals of my pool a lot, and enjoys climbing down in the dirty water of the pool tarp or birth bath to drink (even though he has clean water). Trust me, if you saw him, you’d say he’d smell.

Also, he was seperated from his mother very young and was abused by his previous owner. I don’t think he learned the skills to clean himself from him mom. Is that possible?
I will not shave my cat! LoL!
The frontline idea is a good idea, but it won’t help the smell.

he’s a 3 month old pup, toy breed with cream coat want something gentle that wont agitate the skin its a soft double coated breed. brush you recommend its all VERY soft fur, top layer is just a bit less soft but not much.
