i was thinking about changing them to tidy cat or fresh step but i now i can not have the crystals kind. they have had trouble behving themselves even in there cage i usually use yesterdays news but they have not been good lately using that. dont want to go back the expensvie ferret litter
i found urine on the floor, was able to take it to vet for testing….my cats addicted to friskies party mix…waiting for results, but prior bad food resulted in crystals in his urine…i wonder if this party mix high in magnesium, or something bad for cats.
Im wondering if you HAVE to use Fresh Step crystals for the ScoopFree automatic litter box or if you can use a different (less expensive) brand of cystals?

Mimi litter has been recalled from Walmart, I’m unable to locate any to purchase. There was a response from Janet that said it’s been recalled due to repackaging. Does anyone know if Walmart will be carrying it again, or where else to purchase it, or how to order it online? The Fresh Step crystals are 3x’s the price of mimi litter.

I just got Fresh Step Crystals but whenever my cat uses the box, it stinks! I don’t think it has a good odor repellent in it. What would you recommend for a litter that doesn’t make the room smell?
I have a 5 pound chihuahua that eats everything he finds on the floor. We also have a cat and we used to use all natural litter, then we got an automatic box that can only use one type of litter: fresh step crystals, which claim that they are safe for cats, but I am worried of my chihuahua eating the little chunks. We keep the box in another closed off room from the dog, but the litter will track. Does anyone have medical history with dogs and can give advice what will happen if he eats a few crystal chunks? (these are not crystalline silica, but silica gel, which they claim are safer for pets, even if ingested…but how can this be safe if ingested?)
