We are getting a dachshund that is crate trained. How do I housebreak her?
I recently got a dachshund but i’m wondering if i’m missing something. Ive been feeding him the same food:
– red meats
– white meats
– dry food
– bones
– occasional treats like bones or dog treats
It is red meat that was canned. Well, I call it that because it looks like that…kinda… Rarely, ill give him a little piece of white chicken, with no spices, because i read that it is a good treat and is healthy.
I have a Dachshund, a Yorkshire Terrier, and a Black Lab mix. I was wondering if it’s okay to feed my dog’s Dry food in the morning around 8-9 am and then feed them wet around 3-4 pm or is that too much or too little. Also, I feed my Dachshund wet food for puppies since he is only 4 months old, do I have to feed him a dry food for puppies or is it okay to give him some thats for adults?
My dachshund is overweight, and everytime I take her to the vet, I have to hear how overweight dachshund are prone to back problems and I get depressed. I know I have to help her with her weight problem-but here’s my dilemma. I want her to enjoy her food too, if she doesn’t-she sneaks cat food. Right now I’m feeding her Nutro-Natural choice for Overweight dogs. She loves it. But she doesn’t really seem to loose weight with it, but doesn’t gain either. But when my vet had me put her on the low-cal Science Diet she actually gained weight because she would sneak any food she found anywhere, because she hated it. Help! I want my pooch to be happy and healthy.
So here’s the deal…
I go to the pet shop alot. I keep seeing this dog, my favorite of all time, and I named him Oliver. He is a red-dapple Dachshund. Most people call him ugly or say that he’s cute and go walk off. I’ve never seen anybody hold/play with him (My sister hasn’t either and she works there). We are very attached and he forms bonds quickly. I really like him but he happens to be ,200. But my sister gets a 30% discount so it would be either 0 or 0 or something like that. My parents say we have too many animals, but if they bought him for me I have a bed, and extra time to take him places! I would even pay for his food and he would be my #1 priority dog-wise. Because I have a cat I love to death. I’m supposed to get over 0 for my birthday, the most would be 0. Then I might get 0 on September 21. And that’s only from people outside of my family. My parents are paying the most would be 0 for my birthday party, so I might not get a birthday present. If I got Oliver, I’d pay them atleast 0 back and I could make him get another Dachshund pregnant so I’d get 50% the profit. So basically they would get most of their money back! I don’t see why I shouldn’t be able to get him…
I did the math and if I got the 0 I would pay them:
The cost for him will be approximatley: 0.00
If I got 0 and 0 I’d pay them back: 0.00
If I got 0 and 0 I’d pay them back: 0.00
I also won’t ask for a Christmas present. This isn’t counting what I’m getting from family and in a year I can pay them back with allowances, and I’ll get a job.
What do you think? I should get the dog? Or I shouldn’t?
This petstore adopts from animal shelters because you can call them and get the information about the dog. You can also talk to them about the dog’s family.

I have 4 month old dachshund who is now up to date with all of his shots. I took him out for a walk and after the walk noticed a small pink bump on his belly. He is due for is next heartworm prevention pill on the first of September. I have been good about given him his heartworm prevention. Can he still get heartworms if he was bit by a mosquito and taking his heartworm prevention?
I have two dogs that my husband and I will be relocating from California to Ohio in June. Trying to find the best type of bedding for their kennels for the plane trip. They both shred puppy pee pads so I am hesitant to put those in with them. Anyone have any recommendations from experience? We have a female 30lb husky and a 16lb dachshund mix. Thanks!
I am trying to find a very healthy (even organic or holistic) dog food for my 4.5 month old mini dachshund puppy.
I already have a dog who I love but I would really like a dachshund puppy for my birthday in a couple of weeks. I am very responsible when it comes to taking care of animals i walk my dog everyday i do chores i have alot of experiance with caring for animals but i would really like just a small dog that i can carry around because i miss having my huge dog as a puppy . I have the money for it and everything. I just need to convince them. So the point is i want to get a dachshund puppy for my birthday. I just need to show them how responsible i am and can be how can i convince them to let me get a dachshund puppy for my birthday? This would be my only gift. Please help me!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!! I really want this how can i convince them?
