Our ferret Sachi has a case of ECE, or "green slime" and we’ve been to the vet and have been administering clavamox for about 4 days now. How long should i be giving our Sachi these antibiotics? She looks better, but I am sure the meds are supposed to be taken for longer than 4 days. Can someone help me? How long should a sick ferret be administered Clavamox? Please don’t tell me until he’s better. There’s got to be some sort of timeline.

If my pet ferret gets jumpy, with his mouth opwn and sort of reeling back, while trying to nibble on my hand (doesn’t hurt), what does it mean?

Other than cage and ferret start-up costs, I mean what kind of medical care do they need/what price range is it in? What kind of litter and bedding are best for them? What diet is best? What toys do they like? We’re considering adopting a ferret but I don’t want to be like the new puppy and kitten owners in my clinic who come in saying "I had no idea their vet care would cost this much." Any words of wisdom?

Is 2 hours in a play pen and 2-3 hours out running around in a room enough exercise for a ferret per day?

In doing some research on the computer tonight i am starting to think that my ferret may have adrenal disease. Being it is a little late to be calling vets tonight, can anyone give me some numbers from expirience? 1. Cost of the test? 2. Cost of surgery? 3. Monthly cost of lifetime medications?

I desperately want a ferret, but my parents feel just as strongly that I shouldn’t. What are some things I could say about ferrets or what I’ll do that can help me convince them?

My ferret is 10 years old. I dont want this heat to kill her. It has been in the 90′s lately. I cant have an air conditioner in my room.
I have a fan. I can’t afford a floor model air conditioner. I can’t put an air conditioner in my room because I have crank out windows so there’s no way to put an air conditioner in them. I can’t leave my door open because I live with my grandparents and they have a dog who hits the cage and barks at my ferret whenever he comes in my room. I cant move her to another room because my grandparents didnt want me having her here in the first place so she needs to stay in my room

I have 2 ferrets who like ferrets love to roam the home. Well my youngest just bit a power cord the other night and shocke dhimself pretty good. He is luckley still alive. so I was wondering what is the best way to resolve the ferret near death experiances to stop.
