I bought a baby iguana 4-6 months old from a local pet shop. I got him as a discount because he lost his tail and had an injured toe.
About a month after getting him, he stopped eating. We took him to the vet and found out the toe injury was a broken knuckle that has a bacterial infection.
He was put on antibiotic shots for a month. He just has his last shot a few days ago, but what worries me is that he is not growing.
His cage is a 55 gallon mesh cage, stick, 100 watt heat lights and the 5% UVB light. He also gets daily natural sunshine.
He currently weighs 2.5 ounces at the age of 6-8 months. He is eating his weight in food everyday (romaine, green leaf, escarole, other mixed greens, carrots, green beans, fruits such as apple, tomato, peaches, etc).
So what could be the problem? Should I take him to the vet again, or do you think he will catch up after his long illness?
