Everyone is telling me to get ‘science diet’ for my dogs, but is kinda more expensive I want to know if is really as good or if it makes a big difference compared to other dog food brands-
If it’s not – I would like some recommendations/suggestions.

I am getting a new puppy soon and am planning ahead to purchase all the necessary things to keep him comfortable. I have all the basic things, except food. I am worried about this one. I have always trusted the Pedigree and Purina brands, yet because of the recent dog food recalls of 2008, I have my suspicions on the legitimacy of the claims of various leading dog food brands. I am not only looking for healthy foods, but for brands which foods’s primary ingredient is real meat or chicken products. I would really appreciate the help here!
By the way, my puppy is a boxer.

I found a very good website that tells the pet food brands that were recalled, if anyone else has any other websites that might have any more information, please answer.
I found that MenuFoods.com helps alot.
Thanks

Personally I like Innova dog food for my dog. However, my cousin is going to be working at Petco and he can get a discount for whatever dog food he purchases from there. What, if any, dog food brands would you recommend from Petco. Ones without by products and cornmeal in them. What do you guys think about Blue Buffalo or IAMS or Natural Balance, etc.
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT PURINA ONE?

I have a small dog named Boris. I have been feeding him well, but I’ve heard on the news that there are "acidental" poisens in some of the dog food brands. Can someone give me a list so i know what not to feed him?

I brought my youngest cat to the vet because he was having bathroom troubles, although he is on antibiotics for a parasite called coccidia, the vet told me i should also consider switching the brand of food they are on. I am feeding them friskies, but she insists that friskies is not the best and to get a healthier one, so I am asking if anyone knows any good cats food brands?

We have two beautiful cats who are spoiled rotten with love and attention. One is a diabetic, and he has responded really well to treatment. He seems to be doing great. One change we made as a result of his diabetes is to change him to a diet of almost completely wet food. He will sometimes eat Purina dry food for diabetics, but I have heard from some experts that even that is not great food, and that the diebetic cat should stick to wet food only.
Anyway, we mostly feed him wet food from a list of wet food brands. But both cats just LOVE Friskies wet food, expecially the ‘shredded’ kind.
Is this food good? Is it as good as Fancy Feast (which I have heard is acceptable for Diabetics)
Thanks

Nutro Max is not too bad but still has a slight odor to it. I’m looking for a dog food brand that doesn’t stink up the room or your hands when you handfeed your dog. Any ideas?
Does anyone have any specific recommendations? What do the dog food brands smell like?

might may have cancer the vets are still trying to diagnose. she has become extremely picky with what she eats. i purchased 43 cans of cat food all different companies and flavors and opened each one until i found one she likes. The problem is the food she devours is not the healthiest one out that. I usually buy premium cat food. She is eating the sliced beef with gravy food by friskies. Do you know of any higher quality foods that are comparable to these in texture and flavor.. i thinks he likes the beef gravy. If my cat is sick i dont want to feed her a low quality food however if this is all she will eat i suppose it is better than nothing but anyone my real question is What premium food brands have a juicy gravy beef selection. She hates pate food. thank youuu.
sorry for all the spelling errors! i was in a hurry!
