I have gotten a 2.5 gallon tank with a filter in it, gravel, two plants, a decoration, and a hood. what else do I need before i get the betta and wht type of food should i get. please nme everything. Also how long should i run my tank before getting the fish? Thanks!!!
How long do I need to run the tank for though before adding fish? have any suggestions for fish if the betta cant live in my tank?

I have a planted Aquarium with a 25 Watt aquarium light in a 50 gallon tank and I heard that you need 2-3 Watts per gallon for a planted aquarium. This means I need a 150-100 Watt light. I have a tank that is rounded in the front and I have a special fitted top. I am not certain that I could add another light but what should I do.

Suggestions please.

I might get a betta fish, and put him in a 5 gallon aquarium. I’m assuming that he will need a heater or can he go without one? Anyway, if he needs a heater, is there one that would be small enough for a 5 gallon tank? How would I use this filter-like the directions on how to set it up? Also, could you include any tips or suggestions you have? Thanks.

I am using a Whisper PF-20 filter in my 20 gallon tank. At the aquarium store, the guy told me to just throw the filter in the dishwasher and then I could still use it for months, just washing it once a month. I washed it, but I’m worried about putting it back in the tank. Does this method work? I know detergent kills fish, so I re-rinsed it to make sure all the soap was out.

i recently set up a 7 gallon tank for a few tropical fish however it didn’t come with a light because of its size. ive been looking in pet stores for lights, but they are either too big or too small, so ive been using my desk lamp (halogen light), i was wondering if this is harming my fish or my plants..? =S and also..the tank is in my bedroom, if my lights are on in my bedroom for 12hours will that count to the fishtank…or does light only affect the tank when it is directly overhead the tank? the light in my bedroom is white by the way

ohh and the tank shape is panoramic so thats why smaller lights which would usually be ok for 7 gallons don’t really light up the whole tank

I recently hooked up my aquarium light to a timer so it goes on at 7 am and off at 7 pm. I used to turn it off and on at 8 am and 6 pm. I noticed there’s white furry looking mold growing on the top of my filter where the water doesn’t touch. Should I be able to just wipe it off with a paper towel or is it going to reappear? it’s a ten gallon tank if that matters. Thanks!

i want to have a few betta fish in my 75 gallon tank, is there a way i can make dividers or can i buy dividers somewhere for the tank? If so, how do i make them and/or where do i buy them?

I had a crack along the bottom of my 40 gallon tank and i siliconed it inside and out, and glued a fitted peice of wood on the bottom of the aquarium. The wood makes the bottom as long as the black part (now the black part isn’t the only part touching the ground). So I want to know how long my aquarium should last without another problem. I was hoping like 5 years.
