I dont want a really low mantience pet like a hamster, but I don’t think I am prepared to buy a ferret, and it is too expensive. What is a lower maintenance pet that has the same energy and is just as smart/fun?

My two hamsters had babies and we took the dad away from the mother and his babies so that he wouldn’t impregnate her again. He seems so depressed now that he’s alone and he used to be a really happy hyper hamster. He will just lay in the corner of his cage for hours and he doesn’t exercise as much anymore. I really doubt it’s a medical problem because he was perfectly fine before separation.

I am looking to get a hamster but as I am at school still i would prefer one that slept at night so that i could get a good nights sleep and i could play with it when i get home from school.
Can anybody help me or is it just natural that all hamsters sleep during the day if so is there a way of getting them to sleep at night and be awake during the day?

i have 2 dogs and they like to go after anything small ex. squirls and mice. but i really want a mouse or a hamster (i will name him optomus prim ) but im afriad my dogs will go after it whats a pet like a mouse i could get that my dong wont kill or what can i do to my dongs so they wont kill?

I’m not sure of the sex of mine but I’ll check it. I got one from the pet store that had about 10 other hamsters in it and I wanted to get another one but the store doesn’t have the same litter as before. Would they kill each other or would it just depend on which hamster I bought?

My little sister has hamsters and they just had three baby hamster. One of the hamsters is 1/4 of the weight of the others. Is there any special care baby hamsters need? Should the father be separated from the babies?
