I’ve seen it a few times, the black bear hamsters are nicer than they other colored syrians. Just wondering why? I mean all they are is a different color. My black hammie King Bubba is sweeter than my orangish striped one.

I am looking to get a hamster but as I am at school still i would prefer one that slept at night so that i could get a good nights sleep and i could play with it when i get home from school.
Can anybody help me or is it just natural that all hamsters sleep during the day if so is there a way of getting them to sleep at night and be awake during the day?

I brought 4 out of 13 baby hamsters to my friends house and will be back tomorrow.
Will the mother forget the babies or abandon them????

I’m not sure of the sex of mine but I’ll check it. I got one from the pet store that had about 10 other hamsters in it and I wanted to get another one but the store doesn’t have the same litter as before. Would they kill each other or would it just depend on which hamster I bought?

My little sister has hamsters and they just had three baby hamster. One of the hamsters is 1/4 of the weight of the others. Is there any special care baby hamsters need? Should the father be separated from the babies?

I’m getting 2 Russian dwarf hamsters, if I put them in their exercise balls for 20 minutes, will they forget each other then start to fight? Or does it take like 1 day? Thanks

I have just bought 2 chinese dwarf hamsters, 6 weeks old and from the same litter and the same sex, dwarf hamsters are happiest when kept in pairs unlike syrian ones.
… so they are getting along fine, no problems – I just want to make sure they don’t start fighting and prevent problems in the future – how do I prevent this from occuring, e.g. seperate beds..?? thankyou

My dad agrees but I have to convince my mom, she says their nasty, but she had pet birds before. I really want hamsters and please give me some lines to say to convince her I’ll take care of them and I am responsible enough, thank-you for your answers.

I can’t find anything detailing what hamsters need, other than a good temperament and even-colored fur. While I’m not particularly interested in showing my hamster, I’d like to know if he’s show-quality. I’ve trained him to come when called, even.
I do love my hamster, and I don’t plan to show him, I was just curious. :<
