My mom was telling me how she wants to throw out some of our dog’s worn out beds since we bought her new ones. I suggested that we donate them to an animal shelter. I can sew, so I can patch up any holes and I can also add more cotton stuffing into them. They are faded, but I don’t think the dogs will care as long as they are comfortable. I think especially now, the shelters could use all the free supplies they can get. My mom thinks it’s a good idea.
Do you think the shelter would take them?
Thanks
Also, my dog is a very large dog (she’s about 100-110 pounds) so her beds can fit any size of dog.
They are clean and in good condition, I may need to patch up a few holes but I haven’t looked at them too closely. I’m also donating some brand new blankets and canned dog food to the shelter that I bought.
I’m sure they could be sterilized, just wash them in hot water with some soap. My dog has never been sick.

Hi there, I was given an almost new double baby stroller, for my 15 month old daughter and my baby that’s due in December. Only problem is that there is a cat pee smell I can’t seem to get rid of. I took out the padding that was removable and washed it in the washer, which took care of the smell in that part. But the unremovable stuff still smells even though I washed it down with disinfectant mixed with hot water and febreeze. I saturated the whole thing with this mixture and it still has a lingering cat pee odor. What else could I safely do to try to get rid of this smell?

As my dog has aged, she has since stopped liking to eat any of the dry food we give her. We have tried adding pumpkin (something our vet suggested) to adding her favorite fruit apples but it doesn’t seem to work. Whenever we feed her either homemade or store-bought wet food she eats it right away. I have a lot of dry food left over. I read that if you add hot water to dry dog food it becomes almost the same thing as store wet food. Will this work? Any other suggestions?

I was given two big aquarium rocks and I would like to stick them in my tank. What is the best way to clean them so they won’t hurt my fish? Thank You!
Should I just use hot water to clean them? I know you can’t use soap.

My pup is 9 weeks old now. Up till now I have been putting hot water over his food and letting it soak till it is cool and soft. He can eat some cruchy treats but only gets those once in a long while. I’m just concerned to do pure dry food for fear of injuring his baby teeth.

I am thinking about bathing my pet rabbit because it recently got a little dirty when it stepped into a bowl of blueberry jam.
At what temperature should I bathe the rabbit? I have read that the body temperature of a rabbit is higher than that of a human’s. I guess that means that I should crank the heat higher when I give it a bath, right?
Also, should I give it a shower rather than a bathe? I am thinking about choosing one of these two options:
1. Fill a bathtub to about 5~6 cm height with hot water. Place rabbit into bath and scrub its fur with some shampoo.
2. Place rabbit into dry bathtub, and turn on shower.
Which is better?

I found some pretty cool stones, and I want to use them in my cichlid aquarium. They’re not porous, they’re slabs of rock.
Right now I have them soaking in boiling water, and a high concentration of aquarium salt.
Will they be safe in my aquarium after this?
I expect the hot water and salt to kill any microorganisms that may hard my fish.
I just hate paying for a dumb rock at the store. How do they prepare their rocks to be aquarium safe?

Okay .. i was cleaning my cat room today. There was a spot on the carpet where my kitten got sick so i thought i would clean it up. Well, there was some cat litter (clumping littler) on the carpet so when i put hot water and soap on it the littler turned to mush. I sort of made it worse by added more water to see if i could just scrub it out.
Anyways, i was wondering what would be the best way to get it out?
Should i let it dry before i do anything else?
