Took both my kittens to the vet and they got their final shots. The vet didn’t want to overwhelm them so they gave us the yellow liquid to give to them at home. So we gave them their medicine through their food, and now I see tapeworms again. They had them before we got their front line medicine, and I put on the front line when we got back from the vet and hadn’t seen any tapeworms until yesterday. Is it harmful to use Trade winds Tape Worm Tabs for Cats, since I just gave them the yellow medicine from the vet for hookworms and such on sunday?

What does pet insurance do in relation to the vet?
Does it make going to the vet cheaper or what?
Is pet insurance a monthly payment?
How much is a trip to the vet?
Do you have pet insurance? How much do you pay?

How can I make my kittens use the litter box?

I have 3 kittens and I can’t get any of them to use the litter box. I have done everything I know to get them to use it. The mother is the only one that will.

I’ve heard that some cats are picky and like to have their own litter box, should I go out and buy other litter boxes for them?
They are almost 3 months old. They won’t go near the litter box, they like to use the carpet. It’s hard to be patiant when they are making my house smell.

I am trying to keep my two kittens contained to portion of the house, however everything I have tried has not worked. I have installed a folding door with two locks and they have broken through that. I have put up a large piece of plywood to cover the door opening and they manage to jump over it or push through the cracks. I am trying to find the most inexpensive way to create an easy way to block cats out of a room through a door/hallway opening, but have it have easy access to enter through.

I recently got 2 kittens. After a few weeks the started growing out of their original litter box so I got them a larger covered one to help eliminate smell and give them more room to go. At the same time I took a recomendation from someone and got them a new kind of scoopable litter made out of corn cobs. It was supposed to be easier to use and eliminate odor. (Btw, this is not the case.) Now I can’t tell if it’s one or both of them, but I keep finding that they’ve pooped in places around their litter box but they wont go in it. I’ve tried uncovering the new box until they get used to it but it still hasn’t worked. I can’t really tell if this is an issue with the litter or the new box. They will pee in the box (I think) and they will poop in it sometimes, but i find that they use the floor around it even more. Has anyone else had this problem after changing litter or a litter box? Any suggestions?

7 week old kittens already eating dry food?

They are already eating dry food softened with water. When can I switch to dry alone. The other problem is that they don’t want to drink water, and the mother cat is already reluctant to feed them. Thanx.
I don’t want to feed them canned food, I had a hard time switching from canned to dry the last time my cat had kittens. Canned food is over priced in Mexico (where I live) and I only use canned food once a week as a treat for my older cats.

My sister/roommate recently adopted two kittens and brought them to our two-bedroom condominium. Although she initially promised to keep them in her bedroom (I’m allergic & hate cat hair on my clothes), she relocated them to the front room and put the litter box in our kitchen. The box is uncovered, the cats trail litter (and small bits of feces, actually, that I’ve cleaned up) across the floor, and she cleans it out only every couple days. The odor alone is horrible, but I can’t imagine having the litter box (covered or not) anywhere near our food can possibly be healthy.

Thoughts?

My fiance and I started to foster kittens and my older cat stopped using the litter box. Even after all the cats were adopted out, she kept going on the carpet. It has been a month since any extra animals have been in the house and my cat has started urinating in the litter, but still refuses to poop in the box. We’ve begun to crate her when we’re gone and at night; it seemed to work. Then we started to let her out more often, but within a few days she goes on the carpet again. Its always in the same spot in the house; five feet away from the litter boxes. * A note about the room*. The litter boxes have been in the same room in an extra large wooden box and when our god daughter stays she sleeps in that room.

What is the best Pet Insurance for kittens?

I’m going to get two kittens from a breeder pretty soon – They’ll be around 12 weeks old. I’ll need to get them spayed and neutered. I’d also like to get them micro-chipped. I’ve checked out a few websites for pet insurance, but I don’t know how to tell which is best. Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks!
