Just not sure how often to empty all the kitty litter and start fresh ? I use fresh step.
I have used unscented kitty litter before in my birds’ cages and they seemed to like it. It absorbs the mess a little better and don’t stink.

I currently do use wood shavings from wal-mart, The type that is used for small animal bedding. I just needed to know if its safe to use kitty litter and I didnt stop to think about the clumping that is does. Thanks for the information that has been brought out already.

I keep my cats litter box in the bathroom. The bathroom attaches to my bedroom. I have a closed in litter box becuase when he would scratch the litter, it would fly all over the place.
I still have a problem though. When he jumps out of the litter box, he brings the litter with him! Theres so much litter all over my bathroom floor (I vacuum every time i see it of course). I have tile floors in my bathroom and a small bathroom rug down. I dont mind the litter on the bathroom floor as much as I mind it elsewhere in the house. If I’m not home to vacuum right away, he must walk through the kitty litter..and it sticks to his paws i’m guessing – becuase i find it on my bedroom floor sometimes (i guess its not that big of deal.)…
Before I got my cat I vacuumed about once every other day. Now I find myself vacuuming multiple times a day.
Any suggestions on how to catch the kitty litter and keep it off the floors?
I like Fresh Steps in that lavender scent. However, it is a bit more expensive than some of the other brands. I just got Arm and Hammer Super Scoop and my cat refuses to use it. Is anyone else’s cat picky about their kitty litter? He will only use 9 Lives litter or Fresh Steps. He’s picky about his food too though. Cats are funny.
other than petco and pet smart? not pet meds. things like kitty litter, food, etc. i am not going to a store right now.
We use a mixture of Fresh Step Clay, Clumping and Crystal Litters for our 1.5 year old cat. We have a covered litter box and a mat in front of it. But without fail we will find little bits of kitty litter in our bed, all over the floor, and on the couch. Any ideas that would minamize this problem would be greatly apprecited!
My pup keeps eating kitty litter and poop. I have 2 cats and they need to have access to the box. Any suggestions?
OK…don’t laugh…but my dog thinks that what’s in the cat box is the best dog treat of all time!! I’ve got an old lab and an old cat…we’ve been struggling with this problem for years…
I’ve tried everything. I can’t put a cover on the cat box cause then the cat won’t go in it. I even tried to put a kitty door in the room where the cat box is…but the cat won’t go through the door. She will crap in the floor first…or just sit by the door and meow.
I have punished, spanked, yelled, tried "positive-re-enforcement"just about everything imaginable to the dog to try and get her to stop…but rest assured, as soon as I leave the house..she makes a bee line for the cat box…I’ve caught her in the act numerous times.
Any Suggstions? I’m tired of my dog’s kitty litter moustache!!
The ads say multiple strength for multiple cats. But why shouldn’t I buy the multi-cat strength for my one cat? If the stuff’s so great, shouldn’t I only have to change my kitty-litter half as often?
