I found our long hair bunny had ringworm upon brushing her. It was on her shoulder and went on a circle from shoulder to tail and back. The vet shaved the area and I am now treating it with Nolvasan nd an antifungal spray. We visit the vet in a few more days. How contagious is she after the redness has disappeared?

It was his idea to get a cat in the first place. I wanted a lizard.
He says his allergy is fairly mild and that he’s had cats before, but I don’t want to upset his allergy. He’s also allergic to dust and pollen and he has asthma on top of that, but he’s pushing to get a cat.
We’re going to rescue a stray that we found on craigslist. We kind of have no choice. Our hearts can’t ignore this cat. Unfortunately, he is a long hair.
So, are there any supplies that I can get to help keep the fur and dander to a minimum? I know that lint rollers, vacuums and dusting will help a lot, but what else?
I’ve had cats before, but never a long hair and I’ve never had an inside cat. Since I live in an apartment, going outside will be a rare treat for the little guy.
Except for shaving the cat, what could I do to keep the mess and sneezes under control?

(like with one of those brushes that get a lot of hair out) will hair stop showing up on everything, like my bed?
one cat is short hair, one is long hair, neither of them leave my rom for more than five minutes a day (by their choice.. not mine)
thank you!
well, not stop the shedding completely, but stop it from showing up as much?

My cat is an outdoor cat with long hair.
He gets a few mats and tangles every now and then, but most of them come out easily if we catch them soon enough.
He also rolls around in dirt and climbs trees and stuff, so he gets dirty.
My question is, how often should I brush my cat and give him a bath to help him stay clean and healthy?
He’s 6 years old and in excellent health.
The reason I bathe him is because he has fleas in the summer. He’s also around the chemicals of my pool a lot, and enjoys climbing down in the dirty water of the pool tarp or birth bath to drink (even though he has clean water). Trust me, if you saw him, you’d say he’d smell.
Also, he was seperated from his mother very young and was abused by his previous owner. I don’t think he learned the skills to clean himself from him mom. Is that possible?
I will not shave my cat! LoL!
The frontline idea is a good idea, but it won’t help the smell.
He’s fixed. He’s 6 years old.

or anything for shelter? And just let there dog bark all day long. The dog does have long hair but still it needs to have an option of a dog house especially if its raining a lot.

I have a cat with long hair and use a comb on her but it hurts her and she cries. I was just wondering if anyone knows of a good brush?

Her name’s Cleo.
She’s just recently started coughing up hair balls. She’s a small one; the very gagging that comes, makes her jump up clean in the air.
She has no idea how to do it like the older cats so it’s kind of scary watching her as we worry she’ll choke.
Anyway. To the cat brush.
What are some tips? When I tried getting at her with it, she just sorta attack the thing and becomes all "Crazy kitten eyes" and goes into attack mode. Amusing.
My other two, a Norweigan Long Hair Mix and then a regular tabby never had this issue when we got them.
They were six weeks and from the pound. But we introduced them to a brush early so that’s probably why they don’t mind and even enjoy it to the fullest.
Thanks. =)
