My friend has cats and recently adopted a stray. She’s had problems with the new cat peeing on rugs throughout the house and now that its summer time her whole house smells of cat pee. We’ve literally tried everything to cover up/eliminate the smell and havent had any luck. Does anyone have experience with this problem? If so, what do I tell her to do?

We had 2 male cats about 2 years ago, and since then we haven’t had any because they liked to pee by the front window on the curtains and carpet.
We have been looking into getting a new female cat, but we are afraid to chance getting one and having it pee on the carpet where the previous cats did. Is it a possibility to get a new cat without her peeing in the same spot, and is there an absolute way to get the pee out, or make sure she doesn’t start to pee there?

Well its not really a kitten or a full grown cat…possibly like a 6 year old kid. Anyways, since I got it earlier it had done nothing but stay on the washer and dryer. I did put it on the floor and on my bed but the dog scared it to death and it knocked over the clothes hamper to get on the washer. How can I make my new cat feel comfortable with my house? By the way I can’t just sit it on the floor cause there are many places for it to hide.

For dry food, i feed my cats Fancy Feast daily. They do eat canned food a few times a week, but they seem to want it less and less – is this weird? Because they used to eat it daily.
I’m thinking of adopting another cat, whose owner says is fed friskies dry food each day. I don’t feed any of my cats friskies or whiskas, so i want to know if it’s ok to change the new cat’s diet.

I just got a new cat, 10 weeks old named Xena. I have another cat named Tigger who is 2. Can i use the same litter box for both of them? Or do i have to get a new one for Xena?

I just adopted a shelter kitty. She’s 3 years old, has no health conditions as far as anyone knows, is up to date on her shots for another year, and has 1 free vet visit that I’ve scheduled for her. I was wondering which is more cost effective, getting her pet insurance or getting a pet health care plan through Banfield at Petsmart. It seems like the health care plan is probably more useful but does anyone have experience with either of these options that can help me decide? I want to do whatever is best for my new cat : )
Thanks!

I am thinking about buying a kitten, but I already own 10 chickens and chicks who roam around the garden free. I also own two dogs. The dogs are fine with the chickens, but I am worried that a new cat will kill chickens and fight with dogs. Could I train them to get along?

I am moving soon and I was thinking about getting a new kitten. I have 4 ferrets that get along with my dogs. I know I wouldn’t have a problem with my dogs getting along with the new cat, but im not sure about ferrets. I know a lot of people have put there cat with there ferret and they get along just fine, but is there any special why I should go about doing this?

I went to the store to buy a brush for my new cat, but there were so many kinds! Some were metal, others were like the brushes you use to wash dishes. My Russian Blue/Domestic has short, soft fur. I’m told it has a double layer, as well.
