My dachshund is overweight, and everytime I take her to the vet, I have to hear how overweight dachshund are prone to back problems and I get depressed. I know I have to help her with her weight problem-but here’s my dilemma. I want her to enjoy her food too, if she doesn’t-she sneaks cat food. Right now I’m feeding her Nutro-Natural choice for Overweight dogs. She loves it. But she doesn’t really seem to loose weight with it, but doesn’t gain either. But when my vet had me put her on the low-cal Science Diet she actually gained weight because she would sneak any food she found anywhere, because she hated it. Help! I want my pooch to be happy and healthy.

I have 2 Sheltie puppies. I originally had them both on Science Diet for puppies. The older puppy, Emma, just started to refuse to eat it. She’s very thin but in perfect health, she’s just finicky. We now feed her Nutro for puppies in the purple bag along with some Science Diet canned for puppies and she eats a little but still not enough. What do finicky dogs like? She loves people food and I heard that some of our foods like pieces of chicken and rice or raw ground beef are good for. Our other puppy is the complete opposite. I think he’s way too chubby and he’ll eat anything. We just feed him plain old Science Diet hard food for puppies but I was wondering if there is a good food for chubby puppies? There are plenty of dog foods for overweight dogs that are adults but not puppies! Help!
