I am looking at a mineral block at Petsmart.com and this one is the one I want to clip to my birdcage for my 3 parakeet.
http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2753567&keepsr=0
What is the best way to clip it on the bird cage?

My husband found his Parakeet dead last night. It was one of two males he has. He was in fine condition, no wounds, just dead on the cage bottom.
We’re thinking maybe the other bird, who was much more aggressive than the one that doed, may have been keepng him from getting any food. Neither one of them were or are sick.
How long would he have gone without food to have died from this?

I don’t have any nesting materials in her small cage yet, I do have a male parakeet also. I keep them in the same cage. But, i don’t know if she needs to lay eggs. if i put a little box with grass and leaves and such, they just eat it. Help?

My parakeet layed an egg about an hour ago. She’s still puffed up and panting. How long will it take for her to lay another egg? How can I help her speed up the process with minimal pain?

I bought a parakeet today (06/20/10) and I’m wondering when to start cleaning his cage. I want to keep the bird’s home clean but I do not want to scare him since he’s still adjusting to the new home.
How do you clean it and how do you get the bird out of the cage to clean it without scaring the bird?

I own two parakeets (one female and one male) and I’ve had them for a little over two years. I’ve noticed that my female parakeet’s cere has turned brownish and recently I’ve noticed the male parakeet shredding up the poop paper (what we use on the bottom of the cage) and piling it up into little stacks. Could this mean anything?

Is it possible for a parakeet to not be able to lay an egg, and then have the egg become stuck inside it? If so what would cause this?

almost every week i see my parakeet trying to mate with our cockatiel..
is that possible?
our parakeet is the male and the cockatiel is female;
the male always goes on her back.
we’ve had them for a year, and they really like each other.

I had bought a parakeet and it seemed okay for several months, then just suddenly died. I was always very careful in caring for the bird and only treated it with the utmost care. We also have parakeets obtained years before this one that are still alive, they did not have too much interaction though.
