I know that good food is pricey but isn’t it getting awful expensive? I spend 10.00 a bag for iams mini chunks (for two of my dogs) and then another 10.00 for my old dog who eats Pedigree Little Champions. I can afford it but man it sure is pricey! Do any of you agree?
I love my dogs but face it they are tuff muts(from the pound or sickly ones i have found) My dogs are healthy and never get sick…they like this food so I am going to feed them what they like—they are the right weight and the vet always says they are perfectly healthy
Maybe some of you who left my some very rude comments are not from around here. Where I live we feed dogs what we have. Most dogs around here are hardy mutts which are the best. Im sorry but as long as a dog is a good weight and acts normally…then my food is fine.
I used to feed her Pedigree but she didn’t like it so I changed her food to Nutro Natural Choice for puppies (she’s going on 3 months) and she loves it. Does the brand pedigree cause some sort of side effect or something?
I just wonder how something that isn’t really that hard and crumbles and is made with wheat can clean a dog’s teeth? Although pedigree likes to claim it removes plaque, where is the science to back it up?
Would you say its a good brand? I switched my dogs over from Pedigree/Dogchow.
I’ve been reading some things onine that says that Nutro Max is really bad, but after a month my dogs seem to look healthier than theydid before on the other dogfoods. Does anyone else use Nutro Max? And what are your experiences with it? Positive/negative
I am getting a new puppy soon and am planning ahead to purchase all the necessary things to keep him comfortable. I have all the basic things, except food. I am worried about this one. I have always trusted the Pedigree and Purina brands, yet because of the recent dog food recalls of 2008, I have my suspicions on the legitimacy of the claims of various leading dog food brands. I am not only looking for healthy foods, but for brands which foods’s primary ingredient is real meat or chicken products. I would really appreciate the help here!
By the way, my puppy is a boxer.
Hi, I’ve noticed my dogs itching a lot lately…at first I thought it could be the fact that they love to lie down in the pile of sand I have in my yard.
It only occurred to me today that it might be the fact that I recently started mixing their dog chow. I use Purina One Adult Dog, and Pedigree; I mix them because the Purina is the best but most expensive dog chow where I live. So I had the idea of buying the cheaper Pedigree chow to stretch it, but it crossed my mind that this may have something to do with the dogs itching.
Has anyone ever heard of this causing allergies in dogs?
Is Science diet the best food for my Chihuahua who had Addison’s disease? I have heard that Innova is a good food, and we are trying to get her weight down (she is on prednisone which makes her hungry). She will not eat the Science Diet lite food and I have found the Diet Innova but is it better? Is there something else better than Science Diet? Pedigree? And if we do switch should we just switch her all of a sudden or do it gradual? How do you swicth gradual?
its on the one where they say dogs would be called wise if they were human and its the last dog that they show. it’s brown and has black areas. please, someone tell me i really want one!
ooh i mean pedigree dog chow…sorry(:

I have been feeding my dog Purina Dog Chow for a while. He used to eat pedigree, but he decided he liked the Purina Dog Chow better, and they are both around the same price. So what do you all think about Purina Dog Chow? Is that a decent food to buy for your dog?
Thanks,
~Kyle
Thanks for your opinions on this everyone, I’m putting this to vote.
