I’m looking for some great pet stores (family owned, locally owned, small chains) that specialize in fish, aquariums and supplies. I love all fish, but I have only dealt with freshwater.

I live in Baytown, but it doesn’t matter which side of Houston it’s on. I’m just tired of Petco and Petsmart and the little pet shop we have here which is awful.

I have done my research and for a hobby to help with boredom i would like to breed hamsters. I know not to get them from a pet stores but the only pet store we have in town does have hamsters and the owner breeds them her self so would it be wise to get a pair from her. Just wondering cause she is the only breeder in town that i know of.
I would get out but i really don’t have any friends. So i thought they could be my little buddies.

I have two parakeets and am planning to get at least two more. I need a large cage for them, but everywhere I’ve looked wants an excessive amount for them. I’m just wondering where I could get a cage big enough for 4 parakeets without paying an arm and a leg. I’d also like to know somewhere to get toys, treats, food, etc. for cheaper that the pet stores. thank you!

I currently have two cages of chinchillas(both with a pair). I have been selling the babies to friends an family but was wondering what i have to get to sell to pet stores. Im sure there is a license of some sort but not sure.Thanks

I have 2 female guinea pigs, and i’m going on a 2 1/2 (almost 3) month vacation to japan. I would like to know how much vets, kennels, and pet stores charge a day for taking care of my guinea pig. thanks!

i recently set up a 7 gallon tank for a few tropical fish however it didn’t come with a light because of its size. ive been looking in pet stores for lights, but they are either too big or too small, so ive been using my desk lamp (halogen light), i was wondering if this is harming my fish or my plants..? =S and also..the tank is in my bedroom, if my lights are on in my bedroom for 12hours will that count to the fishtank…or does light only affect the tank when it is directly overhead the tank? the light in my bedroom is white by the way

ohh and the tank shape is panoramic so thats why smaller lights which would usually be ok for 7 gallons don’t really light up the whole tank

Hey, i’m thinking of keeping a pet turtle. i’ll be looking for a baby one, how do i distinguish a mud turtle from a musk turtle, i want a mud turtle. i was thinking of keeping a pet tortoise. I’m in goa, india, so which is the smallest one i can readily get in farms or pet stores?

I’m planning to get a puppy soon and it’s my first time.
I’m still a little new to this and wasn’t sure if puppies have to get vaccinated or is it just recommended.
Also what kind of vaccines a puppy needs. And how much will it cost?

If puppies are purchased in pet stores are they already vaccinated and microchipped?
