What supplies would you like in a pet store?
Hi I’m opening a pet store that just sells supplies-no puppies (except when mine visit, of course.) or other animals besides rescues coming in. What supplies do other pet stores seem to be lacking?
Find an assortement of pet supplies for all kinds of pet animals.

I know I can’t go to pet stores because of the whole puppy mill thing, so where else can a person buy a puppy.
I don’t feel good about shelters, maybe its because I don’t know that much about them, and I’m afraid of getting a puppy with a disease or something else wrong with it, or found on the street. I want it new, not previously owned or found. I don’t know, I just go with name brands, to me, their more trust worthy, but if they’re not trust-able, where else?
And I don’t care about discounts or sales if there are any on animals, i really don’t care about the price, money isn’t a big deal in my family. And I’m talking about in general, like a place that’s not only found in one place.
I bought a Backyard Safari 2-in1 habitat today.
And it has a coupon for 1 free tadpole.
I went to the website and it says:
"Due to weather constraints we cannot ship during the summer months. If you would like to PRE-ORDER your tadpole to be shipped out in November. Pre-order now and we will automatically fill your order and email you when it ships. If you prefer to wait, please enter your email below and we will email you when shipping resumes. Thank you so much!"
So I pretty much want to do it as soon as possible and not have to wait until November.
Does anyone know if any pet stores sell tadpole starter kits including tadpoles or anything like that? Or if I could just buy one or two tadpoles seperate to add them to the habitat?
Also I forgot to add,
the website says that the kind of tadpole they send you is a Leopard Frog.
So I would like to get the same kind.
oops.
and the website it:

My little brother is 6 and decided he wanted a betta fish today. We own a small, and i mean a half gallon at the most, "tank". I fought for him not to get it because I knew that would be cruel treatment for the fish. My mother thought I was crazy and didn’t know what I was talking about because she "always sees them in little jars in pet stores". She gave in and said he could have one. So I said that I would pay for the bigger tank since I do not want to see the fish suffer. I live near Petland Discounts and Petco. Where can I find a nice tank (2.5-5 gallons) reasonably priced? I know of 10 gallon tanks with heaters and filter for so something lower than that woud be nice. I have water conditioner for my African Dwarf Frogs so that is not an issue. Also, is a betta the best option? Would something else be better?
Thanks in advance
This is totally off topic but how much money would it cost to make my tank have live plants and sand (its 10 gallons). I would like lots of live plants, bamboo, sand, and a light that will keep them alive.
Someone I know pit bull puppy nearly died from an intestinal blockage from eating one. After all the stories I have read about the dangers why do you think the stores & pet stores still sell them?
Don’t they all need homes? Isn’t it wrong to ignore the pet store ones and go for ones in a shelter? Aren’t the ones in the shelters…from the pet stores to begin with?
What if I don’t have a shelter anywhere near me? Is It THAT wrong to get one from the store?
I just found out today that here in NJ you need a permit to own chinchillas. I’m not interested in owning a chinchilla and would never buy from a pet store, but I always see chinchillas for sale in big pet stores like Petco and Petsmart. How do they sell them legally to people if you need a permit to own them? Just curious!
there are some toys like this ->http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3073651 (look at the left of the picture) there is a rope toy and i saw some of that rope in another store (not an animal store) and thought maybe i could use it since birds like to climb and explore, so can i or is the pet-stores one the only one i could use?
ps. i know you’re not a bird but you think would they like to have a big cage with a few toys or the minimum cage with lots of toys and room to spread there wings
Can someone please give me a detailed answer? Yes, I kow that pet stores can be bad, but the Petsmart that i’m applying to is phenomenal. Would I have to be dealing with money, ie. counting drawers?
I just moved to a new place but I stopped in Bangalore on the way to spend some time. I wanted to buy a turtle there and take it along with me because there are not any pet stores close to where I live now!!! However, I could not find any stores which carry turtles. I am going to go back to Bangalore in a few days, so I decided that I could get the turtle then. If anybody can help us, please answer soon!!!
