My husband and I will be separating soon from the Marines and we have 3 pets. We are stationed in Hawaii and are currently researching flying our pets home. Two can fly in the plane with us and the third is bigger so she will have to go in with the luggage. I saw a price quote for her to fly and it is 4!! Without taxes and surcharges!! There has GOT to be a way to at least get a discount! We will still have active duty IDs. Anyone know of anything?? Thanks for the help!

I’m reading some of the answers and I have to say, it seems to me most pet owners are damn rich. I’m myself do ok but I can’t afford to take my cat to the vet for every little thing. Anyways some of the answer I hear range from:

over the counter meds don’t work, take her to vet
throw your furniture out if you have a flea infestation
and of course the take her to the vet for every little thing

Are you all rich or do you just like spending a lot of money on your pets?
when talking about over the counter, I meant over the counter meds for cats in specific not people medicine!

So I am getting my friend a betta fish for her birthday, and she knows cuz pets don’t really make good surprises. She said in the future she may want to get other fish to put in her 5 gallon tank. What other fish are compatible with male bettas, if any, that would fit in this tank?

I live in California and I was wonder if anyone could give me a website or a number I could call to ask questions about my rental agreement.

These are the questions I have:

1. On my rental agreement it states that I have full use of the washer and dryer in the townhouse and the dryer has been broken for two weeks now, and I have no idea when it is going to be fix I want to know if when it is finally fixed do I have the right to ask for a discount on my rent since I did not have full use of the dryer, I had to find other means?

2. Also there is nothing on my rental agreement about pets and I got a parakeet and my landlord states I must get rid of the birds, and sent me a letter stating I had 10 days to get rid of it, where do I stand on that?

3. And one last thing (I know I’m sorry) I had signed a 1 year lease for this rental and on the lease it states "One year, then month-to-month, either party may cancel this agreement or change it’s terms upon thirty (30) days written notice after the year." it does not state anywhere on my lease about a penalty if I break the lease early so I’m also wondering where I stand on that cause I am wanting to get out of my lease?

If anyone could help me with this I would really appreciate it, and if you do plan to help me with please provide me with the back up of where you got this information.

I was wondering if getting pet insurance is worth the monthly fee? I read the similar questions on Yahoo Answers and it was about 50-50. I am asking because my cat became very ill over the past few days and we ended up having to take her to an emergency clinic. They ended up keeping her over night and quoted me 9 for treatment and ,130 for worst case seneario. I put the deposit down of 9 and they ran tests and started her on IV fluids. Then they called and told me they have to do an abdonmial ultrasound for 0 and they are still not sure why she is so sick.

I know getting insurance will not cover this incident, but I really do not want to be caught off guard again.

My question is what would you do, get the insurance for peace of mind next time or take your chances and hope for healthy pets? I was quoted 0/year for 2 cats. Accidents, illness, hospital stays, lab test and meds covered

I have 2 cats and recently just got a dog. my cats peed on the carpet. i used all different kinds of cleaners and it seemed like it just made the stain bigger. it doesn’t stink its just stained. and my pets have no desire to go there again. i just want the stain out.

My friend has a metal criss-cross patterned thing over the screen on her screen door to stop the pets from wrecking the screen. It came with the house so she doesn’t know where it came from. Anyone know of any place that sells them? I’m not looking for the actual screen that’s stronger than insect screening, this is something that goes over the screen on the door itself.
Not a doggie door or anything, just a metal protector that goes over the screen part of your door so they don’t scratch through it
