if you see someone answer a question about feeding their dog iams or pdeigree or purina, they get bombarded with tds. honestly, are we so immature that we td people who feed the dog lesser quality food?

and to make this legit, what do you feed YOUR dog?

i feed nutro and im aware that its not the best, but i tried canidae and it literally sucked, sucked the weight off my dogs.

I give kitten "purina kitten food" and in separate bowl i give Scientific Diet wet food. makesure the kitten has water in the water bowl and kitten drinks water and eats the dry food"Purina" but not the wet food"Scientific Diet".

I know I have asked this before but I am still having trouble. I changed my litter from fresh step to tidy cats small spaces for multiple cats but it is still horrible. Honestly it smells kinda like dead rat if you know what I am talking about. I clean it every day at least twice a day. I used to empty it once a week but now that I switched to the new litter I have to change it twice a week. I have inlaws coming over this coming weekend and I don’t want it to smell like kitty litter in my house.

Should I change his food? He eats the canned friskies from purina (eating half a can in the morning and the rest at night) and the dry food during the day. He really won’t eat that much dry food. What’s the best kind of wet food that won’t make him smell so bad? He only likes the completely pureed food.

I walk my lab every night ,probably not far enough. We live in town, I love her, shes so friendly. Ive use to feed her iams, now shes back on Purina Fit&Trim. More fillers in it, and more yard waste. Any ideas. Scott

I recentely started my 4 month old lab mix on puppy food from Nutro Natural, but I have not seen anybody reffering that in all the dog food questions asked here, so just concerned if its like Purina or something not great for puppies. Just for your info, I was giving him large breed puppy food before this one but it had bugs in it so decided to change it.

Well, I am likely going to be adopting a stray cat that I have been feeding. She is a mega sweet longhair calico, and must have been someone’s pet at one time. None of the other strays ever want to be near me, and she wants scratches and belly rubs in a big way whenever I set food out.

Anyway, I am on the hunt for the best quality cat food I can get some petsmart. Why petsmart? A house mate of mine works there and gets a 15% discount on all purchases. I know Petsmart sells Blue Buffalo. But that isn’t a very very good quality brand like Innova Evo. I know more about dog food than cat food, to be honest.

The kitter is getting purina right now. Total crap, I know. But for the strays and ferals (who are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped because I trap them for TNR), crap food is better than no food. But for a pet, I personally want the best for her.

Yep, I know a good food costs more. But the better quality is worth it! The purina is for the stray kitties so they have something more than nothing.

Why do so many people have cats that are 7-15 years old or older that have been eating store brands (Friskies, Purina, etc.) for years? Before this ‘health food’ kick for cats started.

The recall was a fluke (it was terrible, but it could have happened to any product in any food). BUT even then, the store-bought brands, like Friskies, weren’t affected. The diets in common brands were developd by scientists, and have been improved over the years. If all the food on the shelves were bad for your cat’s diet, they wouldn’t all still be there.

Sure, it’s good to watch the food that your cat eats, but buying all this high dollar ‘specialty’ cat with ‘nothing’ in them I think will cause more problems in the end because the ‘fillers’ and so-called junk they put in the food is also needed as part of their diet.

I know alot of people won’t agree, but my cats have always eaten Friskies, and I’ve never had one sick from a poor diet.
Iams used to farm out their testing to other companies but because of the cruelty, they started doing their own in-house safe testing on animals.

Now with the news out that Genetically Modified food is leading to severe allergen problems and internal organ failure in mammals, How does Purina and other big pet food companies get away with feeding our pets Toxic slow killing crap food and telling us the corporate line?

I would like a Purina spokesperson to address this issue of Toxic GM corn and maybe cottenseed, canola and soy in their product lines?!
