I was wondering how much purina luv treats should i give my cat a day?
I find it remarkable that a dog or a cat can live a long healthy life by eating only one thing their whole lives. My cats eat nothing but Purina Indoor Formula dry cat food. They’ve been doing it for years, and they seem healthy and happy. Apparently, this one food has everything they need.
Why isn’t there something like that for people–an all purpose food? It seems like it would be the perfect thing for college students and other people who live in financial dire straights because you could make it really cheap. Maybe you could even have it in different flavors for the sake of variety.
They are called Whisker Licken’s from Purina and they are chicken flavor. When I bought them they were in the pet isle and I just picked them up and when I got home gave her some but then when I was putting it away I noticed it had a cat on the bag so obviously cat treats. She REALLY likes them, is it harmful at all?
my dog is a 8 years old female Yorkshire Terrier. She just have pancreatitis one month ago. just wondering if this dog food is good for her. for now, we r feeding her Hill’s science diet and Royal canin,Yorkie, mix together. once there r no more royal canin dog dry food left in that bag, we will just give her the hill’s science diet
Before my dog got pancreatitis, we fed her Purina
my dog does not hae pancreattis anymore, and it is not cancer
I am getting a new puppy soon and am planning ahead to purchase all the necessary things to keep him comfortable. I have all the basic things, except food. I am worried about this one. I have always trusted the Pedigree and Purina brands, yet because of the recent dog food recalls of 2008, I have my suspicions on the legitimacy of the claims of various leading dog food brands. I am not only looking for healthy foods, but for brands which foods’s primary ingredient is real meat or chicken products. I would really appreciate the help here!
By the way, my puppy is a boxer.
He’s 6 years old, Siamese. He’s my whole life, my best friend actually. He has a few fleas, and I ordered the pill Capstar for him, which he’s had before from the vet and it killed all of his fleas. That’s been a couple years ago and he’s since gotten more on him. I brush him and sometimes I use a flea comb on him and I can get a few fleas off him from that. But when I pet him and rub his back, he goes crazy and starts licking the air and everything in sight. His skin flakes and he has "dandruff" so to speak, and also flea poop in his coat. :/ I don’t have the money right now to take him to the vet but the capstar will work for the fleas because it has before. I feed him Purina, and I just learned that Purina isn’t so great afterall. He likes the taste and is sometimes picky about his food since that’s what he’s always been fed. I did the True Blue survey online and found that Purina had all that corn gluten/animal byproduct, etc. And I’m not okay with that cuz I want him healthy, he’s a little overweight since he’s neutered..I know that’s no excuse, but whatever. He’s also declawed and he does not go outside because I have a little dog that likes to chase him and we don’t have a fenced in yard and I’m surrounded by woods, so that’s a big no go. Anyway, I got coupons to try a bag of Blue Buffalo cat food since they don’t have all that artificial stuff, and I feed him wet canned food sometimes, but I try not to do it everyday because it gives him diarrhea sometimes and he also cries for it. All I’m wondering is if there’s anything I can put on his coat for the dry skin and itching around the house or something not too expensive that I can buy? I know switching his food will help and feed him wet food for oils and stuff, but if there’s anything I can put on his coat to help him get some relief from itching, that’d be great.
@Wendy, he absolutely hates water. He wont even come in the bathroom with me when I take a shower. I know I could try to bathe him but he still has his back claws and I’m blood thinner and he’d surely scratch me.
but all in all, he is a very happy boy.
@Bloom, I am going to switch his food and use the pill I ordered for him, and I’ll still probably try frontline or something to keep them away monthly also.
It’s Purina Whisker Lickin’s Tender Moments.
On the back it says to feed to your adult cat with love and care.
Can I still give it to my kitten of four months? Thanks.
I am fully aware that Iams and Purina are not very good quality….but if you HAD to choose between the 2…..which would be better?
I’m asking because we live in a really remote town, that only sells, Iams, Purina and Whiskas. Its for a barn cat.
She would fly through bowls of that Purina but now that I have replaced it with Wellness Core the bowl is depleting very slowly. Is this normal? I figured since the new stuff is a lot healthier she would need to eat less but I’m not sure if that is a logical conclusion. Thanks!
My cat has had coughing and gagging problems ever since I got this stuff. I’m switching him tomorrow, but still.. It is supposed to help his hairballs and what not, now he just vomits either the food or white goo…. If switching the food doesn’t help, I am def. taking him to the vet, so don’t worry ![]()
Usually, I don’t have problems with Purina.. (I work for their company, and have access to many different kinds of food..) I’m not sure if it is the additive that makes hairballs less, or what not…
