I need to start feeding my dog better quality dog food. What is the best kibble? Also what treats would you recommend?
A friend of mine has a dog that is just so tiny. The Vet suggested different food but they’re always trying to sell what food THEY have so she didn’t buy into it. What is a quality dog food or puppy food that is high in fats and proteins. Something to get some meat on her bones!

she doesnt care for science diet, natures best, or nutro. she loves cheap low quality dog food.
(which I dont want to feed her bc I want her very healthy for ever)

Is Science Diet or Blue Buffalo a good quality dog food. I am currently giving German shepherd Royal Canin formula for my dog but it is very expensive and we would like to go a little cheaper. Are any of the two above better or is there another good brand dog food for less. No corn fillers and not something you could find at a grocery store. Please do not ask me to stick to Royal Canin. Thanks.
also im looking for a quality dog food, the ones that are at petco arent much better than the stuff you get for 7 bucks at the grocery store. for instance i looked at science diet, and i thought it was going to be a really good food cuz it was all expensive, but the very first ingridient was ground yellow corn, and the second was chicken by-product…i also looked at nutro max, and it was no good, so does anyone know any good dog food i can feed my dog?? thank you!
Is it fine to feed my 6month old shih tzu pumpkin everyday? She was constipated earlier this week, so I gave her some pumpkin which has allowed her to poop again. I give her about 1/2-1 a cup daily. Though, I have noticed if I don’t give her any pumpkin one day she cries when making a bowel movement as her poops are too hard and big. Should I just continue giving the pumpkin till everything goes back to normal?
Also, I feed my dog’s Iams puppy… but today bought them some Canidae that I’m going to switch them to, as I want them to be on a high quality dog food… my dogs are 4 and 6months. So how do I go about switching them from a crap food to something high quality without it bothering them?

i am going to get a shih tzu next week and was wondering what supplies i would need. so far, i have:
-high quality dog food (please suggest what kind)
-a collar and tag
-stainless steal dog bowls
-a bed
-a leash
-cleaning equipment (just in case, the dog will be about 3 years old)
-toys
-dog shampoo/conditioner (please suggest what kind)
-grooming tools (what kind?)
i just don’t know what medication and such i should get so please help? and i don’t know if i should get a vet right away or after i get the dog? is there anything else i should get? and how to prepare for a shih tzu?
