We’d like to have a pet chicken. We’ll probably use a rabbit hutch for the nest. Can we let the chicken run free in the entire backyard, which is fenced, in the daytime, if I keep her in the hutch at night? What predators are in so cal cities, the only wild animals I’ve seen near here are possum, rats, cats and dogs. Can a hen stay in her rabbit hutch nest for a week while on vacation, (if someone feeds her), or is that too stressful?

I had a large ware rabbit hutch and a run. I have 2 minature rex rabbits and last night the bottom fell through and they escaped. luckliy we found them. They only weigh 4 pounds each!!!
I need a durable chew proof hutch. IT NEEDS TO BE BIG AND DURABLE WITH A ROOF ETC>>>

I built a large heavy duty rabbit hutch for our rabbits and their new litter. They were born on thanksgiving day, so about two weeks ago. We want to move the hutch and them outside but we don’t want to move them too soon, have them get sick or freeze, as it is winter here in Evergreen Colorado. At how many weeks can a rabbit handle winter weather?

I know if i ever get a rabbit it will be much cheaper to build a hutch instead of buying one.
My dad would build the hutch but the problem is he isnt realy a builder. He know basics.

Ok, i just bought a rabbit hutch cuz im planning on getting a bunny soon.
But the hutch has a wire chicken coop at the bottom instead so if i put shavings at the bottom they will fall through and something has to go at the bottom or the rabbits feet will get hurt.
What can i put at the bottom for this problem.
Also im thinking of keeping it inside because i live in Arizona and it gets real hot. So the solution cant be messy.
And how hot and cold of tempeture can rabbits stand?
