I have a 7 month old male Bull Terrier which I have had since the age of 2 months. Ever since I got him he liked to chew, but as he has got older his antics are becoming more destructive more quickly.
I am now on to dog bed no.13, i’ve tried every kind, even indestructible Gortex beds costing over £50 and he still rips them to shreds in no time. So today, I bought some carpet samples approx 1.5 metres long to go in his cage and within under a minute he had annihilated an area about 6" x 10".
Is this just a phase or is there a reason for him doing it? (he has chewed ever since I got him). He gets plenty of walks everyday – morning, noon and evening and has lots of play time and so many toys that sometimes it’s difficult to walk around the house without tripping over one. He also has a little brother (4 month old Bullmastiif) to play with.
Any advice greatly appreciated, plus I also feel guilty for leaving him on carpet now, but at his current rate i’ll be spending well over £1000 per year on dog beds!!
