I currently have a freshwater aquarium but struggle to easily clean some parts of the filter because they are innaccessible to my fingers or my q-tips i currenly use to scrape the intricate parts of it.

I’m looking for one of those scrub things that look like my metal rod with soft spikes around it. Anyone have a link to an online store which features those or an idea on what else I could use?

Thanks!

I have a crowntial female betta who has not been able to swim properly for some time now. When I look at her it looks as if her neck has been damaged. Her head is angled down so that it looks as if there is a point like a T.P where her neck meets her body. I have no idea how it got this way but it has.

Just a couple days ago she stopped swimming altogether. Just swimming to the surface for a breath of air seems like a great struggle for her…she also seems to be having problems breathing as well. I’ve tried putting her into a community take with a filter, air pump, live plants and a heater. Yet she did not respond to it. She was in a breeder net at the time so the other fish were not able to pick at her like they usually do. Her coloring is blah when it used to be beautiful. She can hardly eat as well. I’m tired of watching her suffer and feel that it is time to go ahead and end her misery. Yet I don’t want to hurt her in the process. I just want it to be quick and painless.

My Dog hates dog food and prefers my cats "Friskies" (any flavor) he’s tried 10 brands of well known dog food, I have been mixing in friskies just to get him to eat it so it doesn’t go to waste, but I want to just buy 2 bags of friskies at this point… He is a Papillion if that matters! I am just sick of him literally starving himself before he eats it, and for the last month he after him gettign very thin I started using friskies… So is this ok if he just eats friskies!?
Ok well he did starve himself, I had to take him to the vet because he went 3 days without eating anything… and my vet said there was nothing wrong with him after a very expensive visit there was still no answer… thats when I stoped with eukenuba which he was eating for the last year… He has never gotten sick or anything from friskies, but because of his lack of eating he is getting acid build up in his stomache and now and then he just vomits out stomache acid…
He also hates rice and chicken, I do need him to gain weight so maybe cat food wont be so bad if it is fatty… I can always give him the other vitamins after the fact… The only human food he really likes is potatoes in all forms… (so mixing in human food doesn’t help me to much)
my cats food is on the fridge, I never just give him all cat food, it’s mixed in with right now the brand is Beneful… about a month ago I learned he would eat friskies after months of this struggle my cats food fell on the floor and he loved it!!! Thats when I started this half and half mix of cat and dog food, but dog food just seems like a waste of my money since he hates it!
also I am not really overly concerned he is a clueless dog, I just pour his food and walk away I don’t care to make him a 5 star meal here people, I wouldn’t care if he hated it, just I don’t need a case of the movie "Thinner" happening to my dog! It’s not like I go crazy trying to find the food either I just grab the next thing on the shelf if the last led me to the same situation, but it seems the general answer is it is fine for him to eat friskies if it’s mixed in with some other dry food, so I will just continue as I am doing and just stick with beneful/friskies mix instead of going all friskies, thank you!

I have two male rats, who are around the ages of 2 1/2 years and 1 1/2 years. I am going away to college in about a month and I, sadly, cannot take my precious babies.

I currently have them housed in a "My First Home Deluxe Multi-Level Large".

The measurements are

I am helping out at a pet store that is closing (I work at one of them, but at a different location) and they have a ferret nation 142 for 50% off, and I can get an employee discount and a discount for turning in my current cage, which was worth about 75$ when I bought it.

Well, my parents won’t be able to let my two males roam as much while I’m away, and I was wondering if it is worth it to get a bigger cage. Also, the cage I have now is extremely light and easy to clean. I know the Ferret Nation is very heavy, I want to know how easy it is to clean. I use blankets as bedding.
I don’t want my parents to have to lift heavy things/unassemble with tools to have to give the cage a weekly cleaning.
What I’m trying to ask if the cage I have now better for my parents or would the Ferret Nation be easier (and make my rats happier)

My dad would probably just pour vinegar on the cage and hose it off to clean it.
And I was wondering if the ferret nation 142′s second level comes off without much of a struggle.

We have 2 dogs and 3 cats. They are all neutered and spayed of course. I can afford their food, the dog’s Heart guard but it’s a real struggle with the vet bills! Like most middle-class Americans, we’re just really struggling with our finances. We’ve cut down on almost all things that are not necessities (this is the library computer and internet) by getting rid of cable, buying second-hand clothes, and saving coupons. We consider our pets our family members so they’re here to stay. I just wish that the government could offer a bit of assistance to responsible pet owners (not breeders of course) since they give money to so many people on "disability" that end up spending it on drugs and booze (not all of them do OF COURSE but quite a few do!).

I knew my rabbit’s leg was not right because it was sticking out. I took him to the vet and found out that he had a broken leg. The only thing the doctor offered was leg surgery to fix it (which would cost 0+), or putting the rabbit down. I would not have my rabbit put down and definitely could not afford to have the surgery. I need to know if the rabbit could survive without surgery. I’d like to know what kind of pain medicine a rabbit could be given to ease its struggle to be better again.
