What are cute pet names for a girlfriend?
I don’t want anything that everyone uses. Ex. Babe, baby, honey-buns, darling, sweetheart, love, lovely etc. Just something simple, like Pie, or Bug. Something cute, something not normal and original.

What do women call men (in any country that you know)?

"pet names", like in English, people might say "honey", "sweetheart", "sugar", etc.
Somewhere, long ago, I read that if you adopt a rescued animal they’ll give you a discount on things such as pet food. Well, we adopted a precious six year old Siberian Husky who was found as a stray and was starving and dirty. She had only been in the shelter for about a week before we came in and adopted her, and I couldn’t be more excited about having her as a new family member, she really is a sweetheart. But yeah, I was just wondering, because it sure would be nice if they did give discounts for that.
Personally I can’t stand them. Babe makes me feel cheap, sweetie/sweetheart sounds demeaning, and baby makes me feel like a little kid. They just drive me nuts.
How do you feel about pet names and why?
Why is it so weird for fathers to call their sons names like "sweetheart" or "Honey"? Everytime I hear it I can’t help but think it sounds so bizarre! It doesn’t seem weird when they call their daughters that, and its ok for mothers to call their sons cutesy names. Any fathers that call their sons affectionate names like that?
Pet names. It’s all about adding a new level of identity to a person to set apart the relationship as something sacred. It demonstrates that someone cares enough to call you in a more private way than your given name.
“Baby”, “Honey”, “Dear”, “Love”, “Sweetheart” are the usual universal norms…with some variation…so what are the craziest pet names you’ve heard or have used when addressing your significant other?
I just got a dog from the humane society a week ago. She is a German Shepherd mix, 2 years old and a real sweetheart. The only real problem I have with her is that everyday she pees on the floor at least twice. She only pees directly around the cat litter box though. I am not sure if she is confused or marking her territory . She is generally an obediant dog so it doesn’t appear to be an act of defiance against me. I really do need to get her to stop doing this for obvious reasons. I am worried because if this doesn’t stop I won’t be able to keep her.
I’ve been dating Chad for 6 months and he always calls me pet names (baby, darling, sweetheart, beautiful), but I want to call him by a pet name as well (occasionally I’ll call him sweetie, but not often). I’m afraid that I might embarrass him or call him something too "mushy" or "feminine". What are some good pet names for boyfriends?
