I’ve read that adding some freshwater aquarium salt to my tank (26 gallons) can have several benefits. However, I’ve also heard that the salt can damage plants and corydoras. Likewise, though, I’ve also heard that in lower concentrations, corys and plants can still do okay.

What’s your personal verdict? Can you provide a link or go into detail about personal experience on this? Thanks in advance!

Could a carbon aquarium filter interfere with the dechlorinator if I’d empty the tank, fill it with tap water, pour the "works in seconds" dechlorinator, and after 5 or 10 minutes turn on the filter? Would that prevent the dechlorinator from doing its job?

I won a 55 gallon aquarium and stand and don’t know what to fill it with.
I’ve had smaller freshwater aquariums with various goldfish and guppies. I even had a couple of Piranhas.
I like the color and beauty of saltwater fish but don’t like all the upkeep required to the tank.
Are sharks hard to take care of and what kind of fish can be with them?
Do I need a fluval style canister for a 55? If I get one, do I still need a bio wheel?

I have a 29 gallon aquarium and i planted bulb seeds in my tank. its been for weeks now and they have grown over 1 feet tall. my tank has 6 tiger barbs and i dont know how to care for them.

my ph is pretty high but its the right ph for tiger barbs to tolerate.

a leaf on one of the plants has reached the top of the water and is now like a floating lily.

Do i inject Co2?

what do i do about water changes? if the water goes down can the floating lily’s stem handle it? what do i do?

what about fertilizer?
im not sure if ph is a factor. i was on vacation for 5 days and the plant suddenly grew huge.

i think my grandpa left the light on all week.
i just found its Nymphaea stellata or the water lily right now its reddish

5 gallon aquarium, 3w filter 240ml/m rate… i reduced the filter to a weaker one already but my catfish had been swimming with the strong current for about 8 hours… It’s not really moving but the gills are.. it just ate one of the feeders too so maybe that’s why.. I’m asking this because all the feeders in the tank are now dead… is my catfish gonna die too? what can i do to help it? thanks!

i got 2 new baby aquarium plants just now, and the roots are in little buckets, kind of like how trees are in the store. I put the plants in my tank, still in the buckets, just sitting on top of the gravel? Should I take them out of the buckets and bury them? or just bury them still in the buckets? They look a bit root-bound in the buckets….
If i’m supposed to take them out, how do I get them out without damaging the roots?

Sorry to ask about the last question but i was thinking of buying a ten gallon aquarium. Anyways it might not be a ten gallon but around 10-15 gallons. What type of freshwater fish am i able to put in a ten to fifteen tank? are they schooling,should be left alone, or should be kept in pairs? so any freshwater fish, please. im not sure about a heater or filter but could ya put a pic, please and thanks.

We just bought an aquarium for our boys and five gold-fish… the tank has a light in it (full-spectrum, according to the box) and we’re wondering if we should leave the light on over-night or not.

One time I got an aquarium plant and it got mushy and fell apart after 2 weeks of having it.
I really want to get like 5 plants for my tank, but what’s the point if they die after 2 weeks?

What are some small plants (for a 10 gallon) that live long?
How long do they live?
it never turned brown, i just went to clean it and it was mushy and fell apart. I don’t think it had any roots though….

I clean out my filter once a week and a few days later, my tank has tons of algae growin in the filter and all over the tank. Does that mean I need a new filter and should i buy an algae eater?
