I’m in a dilemma, I have been feeding my dog Nutro Venison and Brown Rice dry food. He has had some pretty bad skin reactions to other food in the past (he’s a lab), but the venison seemed to be very good for him. The problem is that Nutro has not shipped the Venison and Brown Rice food to stores for the past 3+ months, apparently they are having some "packaging issues"? So now I am almost out of his food. Does anyone have any recommendations for another brand of dog food that makes a venison food?

I have just found out that my dog is allergic to beef, venison and lamb. She REALLY loves her rawhide bones but she can’t have them any more.

I have found pigs ears and pork-hide cigars, but am really struggling for other alternatives. Can anyone suggest anything else?

I feed my dogs Blue Buffalo brand Holistic all natural dog food. It is not cheap. I thought by adding the venison it would stretch the dry food.

If you search the internet you will find many many cases of cats getting sick or even dying from eating these foods, especially Special Kitty. All we ever fed our cat was Friskies and they seemed fine until about 2 weeks before the recall, they kept throwing it back up. I stopped feeding it to them and switched to Natural Balance but then the kind I was feeding them was recalled. I have been monitering them closely and they don’t seem affected. It was just a small bag of Green Pea and Venison split between 3 cats. I’m still feeding them Natural balance but not the recalled kind. I am thinking of switching to something else but I don’t want to feed them anything with Wheat gluten, rice, or anything made by Menu foods. The only thing I have found that isn’t is Natural balance and Halo and my cat refuse to eat Halo. I just wish that they would pull the Special Kitty and Friskies since it is making cats die. Is anyone still feeding their cat canned Friskies or Special Kitty?

I have my dog on chicken and oatmeal nutro natural choice. Im thinking about either going to nutro ultra or nutro natural choice venison and brown rice. Anyone one have any advice or opinions on these choices?

Recent events have made it where my Great Dane now needs to eat ROYAL CANIN IVD Canine Potato & Venison Formula, which can only be purchased through my vet. Unfortunately, it is cost prohibitive with the large quantity my Dane consumes. Does anyone know of alternatives where might be more cost effective?

I was at the pet store today and saw some Nutro Max Cat Gourmet Classics canned cat food. I rotate through a lot of different brands and flavors since I have kittens and want them to get used to different foods. They eat Fancy Feast, Wellness, Purina Selects, Avoderm, Authority too. This Nutro Max Cat was one food my other cats had liked before. The label shows the ingredients as Chicken Broth, Chicken, Chicken Liver, Wheat Gluten.. Venison, etc. I know this was on the recalled list months ago, but if it’s showing up in the stores again . . .

My dog has food alergies and is on a strict diet. Her food is made only of venison and potato. She can only have her food and water for atleast the next 6 weeks. There are no treats to go along with the diet (the company doesn’t make them). I think it is cruel and unusual to not give a dog ANY treats so I am looking for a recipe for her. If you don’t personally have one can you please tell me where I can find one?
