he has a yeast infection and allergies, he had the infection when we got him and he was eating purina puppy chow…the vet says probably not the food he is too young for food alergies but he got had it when we got him two years ago and we keep fighting it….could it be the puppy chow?
I know that good food is pricey but isn’t it getting awful expensive? I spend 10.00 a bag for iams mini chunks (for two of my dogs) and then another 10.00 for my old dog who eats Pedigree Little Champions. I can afford it but man it sure is pricey! Do any of you agree?
I love my dogs but face it they are tuff muts(from the pound or sickly ones i have found) My dogs are healthy and never get sick…they like this food so I am going to feed them what they like—they are the right weight and the vet always says they are perfectly healthy
Maybe some of you who left my some very rude comments are not from around here. Where I live we feed dogs what we have. Most dogs around here are hardy mutts which are the best. Im sorry but as long as a dog is a good weight and acts normally…then my food is fine.
I really want to start feeding my 4 month old golden retriever a raw food diet. But, my girlfriend said that the vet told her that it was a terrible idea. hard to believe because of all the good things I have heard about raw food diets for dogs. why would a vet be against something like a raw food diet?
She won’t take my rabit to the vet and i think its getting worse and i cant drive so how do i take her?
I have a Florida White rabbit, about a year old. My family and I left for a 9 day vacation and had a pet-sitter. When we came home I saw one of my rabbits had a cloudy, disgusting looking eye. It’s red around the outside of it, and cloudy with a white spot on the side.
i am thinking of boarding my dogs at the petsmart pethotel for 2 weeks. i would normally pick my vet but 2 weeks is a long time for them to be in crates 
has anyone tried boarding their dogs at the petsmart pethotel? how was it? was your dog ok?
The last "reported" number I saw was 16, but I think that is a bunch of crap!! My sister’s co-worker is probably going to lose his dog; the poor thing has been at the vet’s office for 5 days and isn’t getting better. My vet has lost 3 animals and another local vet has lost 2, so I figure if 5 pets are known to have died from this (within a 35-mile radius of me), the number has to be in the thousands nation-wide! And, no telling how many pets died from "unknown" causes before all of this hit the news. I think these pet food companies should come clean and tell us the truth! I feed her the Ol’Roy jerky treats they just recalled, and I am scared to death that my food (Little Cesar’s) is going to be next, even though they say not. (I’m overreacting I guess.) But, everytime I feed my miniature dachshund, Laci, I feel like I’m signing her death warrant!

my cat was feed 2 meals of Purina Cat Chow (while I was away this past weekend) She normally east Purina one, but the store was out and my mom bought the lower grade Purina Cat Chow.
My cat has been urinating all over and in paing when doing so, also constipated and has no appietite. I am taking her to the VET as soon as I can.

We rescued a kitten this morning. She was in the middle of the road, lying in a puddle. Vet said she’s got fleas. So we’re getting that taken care of and she also got her shots. She’s about 8 weeks old. I’m an animal person, and have the time/availability and expenses to take care of her.. so I’ll be keeping her if nobody claims her. My questions are: How to train her to use her litter box and to scratch her post? I’ve heard horror stories of cats ruining furniture, but I know with the right training and handling it can be avoided.. so please dish out all of your information!
Our dog just gave birth and our vet said to feed her puppy chow. What is the best puppy food to feed a nursing mother dog?
I was wondering if anyone knew of any Purina dry cat food being recalled or has anyone else had problems with it? I have two cats, one of which was put on a diet so I purchased Purina Cat Chow Lean. The following day, my youngest cat began throwing up repeatedly. I had to take him to the vet two days in a row where they had to put him on medication and inject him with fluids…twice!! I haven’t seen anything about this brand being recalled but it’s so hard to keep up or find the most updated sites. The only that changed was that I began mixing his regular food (Purina Cat Chow Indoor formula) with this food the day before. Although it doesn’t contain wheat gluten, it does contain corn gluten and wheat, so I’m concerned that there might be something wrong with this food as well. I haven’t fed it to him since and he’s been fine but I’d like to know why he got so sick. If anyone knows anything, I’d appreciate their help.
Hi everyone, thanks for all the quick responses. I’m still in the process of researching this. I’ve discovered that Medi Cal is on the list, albeit wet food they say. I was provided a package of this by my vet prior to purchasing the Purina Lean cat food so now I’m not sure if it was the Purina or the Medi Cal that might have done it. I will continue to research this and hopefully come up with an answer as to what the cause was.

Wow, you guys are quick! In answer to some of your comments, he’s 4 years old and has never had any issues before so I dont’ think that was the issue given the fact that it was such a small amount mixed in with his usual food. He does get home made little treats from time to time and, as far as contacting the manufacturers, given what I’ve seen in the news and how Medi Cal assured the FDA that no tainted food reached Canada when in fact it had, I’m not sure I really want to trust them.
