Catnip is so named because it of it’s affect on cats, however it is also called cat mint with the family name NA-PETA CAT-ARIA. Though it is not the only plant which cats are attracted to
(VALERIAN is another one, plus any plants that contain ACTINIDINE.)
The effect is one of a high similar to it’s cousin cannabis sativa when sniffed or inhaled. Most cats reaction will be to sniff it, roll in it and then eat it. Similar to the way they react when in heat, for this reason it was considered feminine feline aphrodisiac, until it was shown to have the same effect on both males and females. In ancient Rome it was used as a cure for some forms of gastric distresses in people. Oddly it’s effect are different when sniffed or eaten. If sniffed it is an "upper" and a "downer" if eaten. Hope this helps.
well all i know is that it really makes them crazy my cat attact me one time b/c i gave it catnip! not a good idea
Catnip is a VERY weak drug. Cat’s smelling is VERY good. You should get the rest of it!!
I think it stones them like you smoken cannabis or taking some other kind of drug.
Kind of has an affect like good pot does on an old hippie. Makes ‘em happy dude!!!
i know cat nip makes cats very high and frisky and hyper. idont what it really is about the plant .
It makes them stoned. First insanely active, and highly paranoid, then they crash for a good nap.
it makes our cats go spastic but they never have attacked us or the kids they just go 180 all through the house….plus they are kittens so they have allot of energy anyway
Make them go nuts!!!!!!!!!!!
